Why flee and wait six hours to report? I can’t think of another reason, and neither can her own people when I ask Was Amy DeGise drunk when she hit that bicyclist in Jersey City? | Moran - nj.com nj.com/opinion/2023/01/was-a…

Free and fair elections are the cornerstone of our democracy. If you run into issues today while trying to vote, the New Jersey Department of State operates a toll-free line to answer your questions. ☎ 877-NJ-VOTER

“There’s just not enough #affordablehousing in New Jersey,” says Taiisa Kelly of @monarchhousing. @RWJF's top priority is for all New Jerseyans — no matter their race, income, or residency — to be able to live in safe, affordable neighborhoods of their choosing. #healthequity
Without adequate investment in the “who” and “how” programs like these will run, they will continue to fall short of their stated goals, leaving the people they intended to help behind

Any state or city looking to create a right to counsel in their communities must look to and learn from what is happening in NYC
Jersey City Council President voted for a cannabis dispensary owned by her daughter. She would have abstained but was tired after the avalanche of speakers. This is the kind of distraction that Amy’s presence on City Council will continue to cause. hudsoncountyview.com/jersey-…

Last nights meeting was LONG but it was still shorter than the time it took @Amy_DeGise to report her #HitANDRun to the police She must resign now. @StevenFulop
Jersey City councilwoman Amy DeGise sits through almost five hours of public calls for her to resign. She surprises room by speaking up at the end. She won’t resign. She says she feels horrible, but doesn’t apologize. And says her silence is only because of the legal situation.

In too many places in America, "victim's rights" only matters when the perspectives of victims align with prosecutors, legislators, and state officials who use mass incarceration, excessive punishment, and cruel enforcement of the law to advance the politics of fear and anger.

Still sitting with this and the full magnitude of the #HousingCrisis in this country. There is still so much for us to do.

Theresa is a force! I’ve been lucky to work with and learn from her. Glad to see she’s getting recognized for all she’s done (and continues to do) for the community shar.es/afbjmB
