I’m announcing that I’ll be supporting challengers against State Senator James Beach and other elected officials who continue to fuel corrupt machine politics in NJ. Last week’s shameful hearing and vote to gut anti-corruption efforts showed the need for more accountability. We halted the bill but need to keep our feet on the gas. We need leaders who represent the people, not powerful interests; and we need a grassroots army to build an anti-corruption movement. I’m putting out a call for people to step up. It won’t be easy, but I hope you’ll join me in stepping up to build a true democracy for the people.
I have never seen anything like this! Sen. Jim beach is making a cabinet member, the attorney general and a sitting U.S. senator wait five hours and still hasn’t called them to a hearing on Transparency and corruption. Three people tried to yield to @AndyKimNJ and Beach refused

Just in: NJ “transparency” at its worst. Sen. Scutari sneaks in a bill before Thanksgiving to kill OSC investigations. A vote for this bill is a vote for corruption. njleg.state.nj.us/bill-searc…
This was an excellent breakdown of the governor's race just in time for election day from the top reporters covering the race.
I haven't had this much fun doing this in a long time. @PRESSCORENJ @HoldThatShow @madfernandez616 @johnsb01 @PoliticalStile youtube.com/watch?v=-EqlnnQt…

I talked to Victor Herlinsky, the attorney and state ethics commissioner who wrote a letter seeking leniency for Bob Menendez. He told told me he wanted the judge know the good things Menendez has done.
Blue Sky gets a rave review. “Free from Elon Musk, and his tedious quest to turn X into a right-wing echo chamber where he and his friends are the permanent, inescapable main characters.” nytimes.com/2024/11/22/techn… via @NYTimes
I am moving to Blue Sky. Will continue to drop in here during the transition. Sad to leave behind the people I follow, especially NJ press and politicos. But this is a good moment to try and build at Blue Sky. @nancysolomon2.bsky.social

I finally researched Scutari's claim that he "barely" handles auto insurance cases. He has filed at least 21 auto cases in 2024 (plus 6 slip n falls, another area where he introduces bills). Didn't see any other types of cases by him
1M drivers got a rate hike b/c of this bill

Excellent reporting here by @DanaDiFilippo & @NJMonitor. New Jersey is in desperate need of more - both in number & in activity - journalists at the local & regional level. Having what already exists get snatched by political operatives & partisan machines is a major crisis.

1/2 I guess I'm not the only one who objects to the @starledger series of op-eds that are pushing the Norcross narrative about the racketeering case against him.
