Such a common story, sadly. The problem isn't ambition - it's where that ambition ends up listing.
The UK has the talent. Now it needs the policy to match.
Met with the Head of Investment Banking at a global bank about Cleo going public.
The entire conversation assumed a US listing. When I asked about the LSE, they laughed.
When Wall Street mocks London’s exchange, Britain has a problem.
Future growth = technology. Every UK tech champion listing abroad means Britain loses the upside.
This Budget needs action, @RachelReevesMP :
1. Kill stamp duty on tech stocks - no LSE tech giants, so no revenue loss
2. Accelerate Mansion House reforms - 2030 is too late
3. Launch tech ISAs - stop rewarding cash hoarding
4. 0% capital gains for founders listing in the UK
5. Outcompete Nasdaq/NYSE rules - super-voting rights, flexible disclosure
Cost to Treasury: minimal. Signal to world: huge.
Britain must compete - or decline. Choose.

A week after the inuagural Investor Summit, and the @CopiaDigital team is still invigorated by the amazing content and conversations we enjoyed.
In retrospect we delivered a broad and ambitious agenda: the Summit was rammed with top speakers and informative, data driven commentary.

Aim-listed Poolbeg Pharma #POLB pulled together an authoritative panel to discuss the outlook for a significant pharma sector – cancer immunotherapy.
@PoolbegPharma CEO Jeremy Skillington was joined at the Investor Summit by Dr Martin Kaiser, Professor of Haematology, and Consultant Haemato-Oncologist at the Institute of Cancer Research/Royal Marsden Hospital, and Dr Brian White, an experienced healthcare analyst from Shore Capital.
@DonaldLeggatt caught up with Jeremy after the panel discussion and began the interview by asking him to put cancer immunotherapy treatment in context.

The investment trust sector is reiterating calls for an urgent resolution of the cost disclosure issues, following the appointment of a new Treasury office, after previous unsuccessful attempts under the former government.
Richard Stone of @AICPRESS, which has been calling for the reforms since 2018, said plans are in place to write to the new economic secretary to the Treasury “as soon as they are appointed”.
