Police Activity
At approximately 6:00 A.M this morning, the Malden Police Department assisted Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with a federal arrest and search warrant operation on the east side of the city.
The operation stemmed from an ongoing federal investigation originating in Michigan. Anthony Fowlkes, a Malden resident and the subject of the federal investigation, was taken into custody without incident pursuant to a federal arrest warrant. A federal search warrant was also executed at his residence as part of the investigation.
Fowlkes was subsequently transferred to federal custody and transported to the federal courthouse in Boston for further proceedings.
This was an @HSINewEngland & @HSIDetroit led federal operation, with Malden Police providing local assistance and support. There are no local or state charges associated with this matter at this time. Any additional information regarding the investigation or federal charges will be provided by the appropriate federal authorities when available.

Beginning tonight, September 9, two towering beams of light will rise from the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire, creating a dramatic tribute to the 25th anniversary of September 11. Known as The Honor Summit, the installation is inspired by the twin beams at Ground Zero and transforms the Northeast’s highest peak into a beacon of remembrance.
.
The beams will shine September 9, 10, 11 & 12, from 8 p.m. to midnight, extending roughly four and a half miles above Mount Washington’s 6,288-foot summit. In clear conditions, organizers estimate they could be visible from as far as 135 miles away, potentially reaching parts of Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts and beyond.
.
Created by Renee Plummer of the Granite Springs Foundation with support from New Hampshire and regional partners, The Honor Summit honors those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, as well as first responders, veterans and others who serve their communities. Visitors are encouraged to view the lights from surrounding communities rather than driving to the summit, taking a moment to look up, remember and reflect.

🚒 Fire Safety & Station 3 Tour in Malden, MA
🗣️ I visited Malden Fire Station District 3 (West Side) to speak with Firefighter Brian Hoff about essential home fire safety and prevention. In this video, we tour the station, look back at the history of Engine 3 (serving Malden since 1854), and break down critical safety tips every resident and older adult should know.
✨ Special thanks to Firefighter Brian Hoff for taking the time to share these lifesaving insights, and a sincere thank you to all of our firefighters and first responders for keeping our community safe every day!
