You can now buy Chapter House books through The Blaze!
Hardy Boys. Nancy Drew. Treasure Island.
Blaze Media is excited to partner with @PassagePress to help preserve timeless literature and bring these stories to a new generation.
Yes, we use our own books!
Oldest child was reading us the story of Hercules from A Child’s Book of Myths today. He was absolutely irate that the king hadn’t cleaned his stalls in 30 years. I’m going to remind him of this when he complains about cleaning his room. @ChHouseBooks for the win!

Great books can do more than entertain children.
They introduce children to language, ideas, history, imagination, and worlds beyond their own experience.
In the latest Founders Podcast, @0Beanie05923291 talks with Josh and Hannah Centers of @ChHouseBooks about why they’re curating high-quality collections of classic children’s literature—and why the books we put in children’s hands matter.

I have a few of those books, but none so beautifully bound. May need to upgrade after seeing them!

All of the books that I’ve been using for my 6-year-old’s homeschool this fall.
This is a huge opportunity for the arts in Middle Tennessee! Prospective patrons of the arts, please get in touch.
Huge opportunity right now in Nashville to found a competing orchestra since NSO is closed down for the year.
Put a NEW concert hall in Williamson County, in a good neighborhood so patrons can actually walk to their cars in safety (unlike all of these halls plopped down in "opportunity zones" in other dysfunctional cities).
--Musician-run.
--Mission is to cultivate virtue through beauty and truth.
--Very little "admin."
--Pay well, (and it's in a tax-free state).
--Purely meritocratic -- the best musician gets the job, chosen by their peers.
--NO "back up band" shows or giant movie screens.
--ENFORCED AUDIENCE DRESS CODE. If a man doesn't have a jacket, an usher pulls one from a closet rack for him to wear.
--90% of programming is of canonical works written before 1980.
--Orchestra produces 2-3 commercial recordings per year.
I bet, with exception of the new hall, you could get this done for <$25m annually.
“The Chapter House Series curates a beautifully bound cultural lifeboat for families, and I do mean beautiful…Aesthetically, the set is consciously anti-ephemeral and deserves a lasting place on the family bookshelf. ” – Christen Arbogast, Assistant Headmaster at Archway Trivium

The Bible, Western philosophy, and the American founders all explicitly teach that virtue is the prerequisite for freedom, not the other way around.
The American system of liberty presupposes a virtuous and religious (Christian or at least Christianized) people. We were warned by John Adams that a loss of it would make America “the most miserable habitation in the world.”
Worth reading this oft-quoted letter by Adams in full. It is for our times:
“While our country remains untainted with the principles and manners which are now producing desolation in so many parts of the world; while she continues sincere, and incapable of insidious and impious policy, we shall have the strongest reason to rejoice in the local destination assigned us by Providence. But should the people of America once become capable of that deep simulation towards one another, and towards foreign nations, which assumes the language of justice and moderation while it is practising iniquity and extravagance, and displays in the most captivating manner the charming pictures of candor, frankness, and sincerity, while it is rioting in rapine and insolence, this country will be the most miserable habitation in the world; because we have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Jeremy Boreing: “In a fallen world, freedom does not guarantee virtue. And yet, freedom is the prerequisite for virtue.”

It’s finally fall, the perfect time to curl up with a good book, like Our Island Story from the Chapter IV box set.

My oldest just used a fairly advanced word and my 7YO said “oh I know that word! I heard it in Bunnicula!”
Read to your kids! Read books aloud to them that they cannot read themselves! It’s essential.

This, by the way, is how the Left will ban homeschooling.
They won’t draft a piece of legislation that says “homeschooling is illegal” they will just create a world where you can’t get a job or go to college if you are homeschooled.
They will force parents’ hands.
🚨#BREAKING: Outrage is erupting after a 22-year-old who runs into BURNING BUILDINGS as a volunteer firefighter was told he isn't qualified to be a paid firefighter...
...because he was HOMESCHOOLED.
Then the city changed the job posting to cover it up.
His name is Andrew Coates. He's 22 years old, in Nebraska.
Right now, today, he runs into burning buildings as a volunteer firefighter for Cedar Bluffs Fire. He is a state-licensed EMT.
He is doing the job. For free.
All he wanted was to get PAID to do it. In his words: "Make a career out of it would be the goal. To get paid to do what you love."
So he applied to the Fremont Fire Department.
And in April, the city rejected him. Why?
Because his high school diploma says he was homeschooled.
That's it. That's the whole disqualification.
Not his EMT license.
Not his fitness.
Not his record.
Not his experience pulling people out of fires ALREADY!!
...how he was educated.
The job posting he applied to said "graduation from high school."
That's all it said.
He graduated high school.
He has a diploma.
And AFTER they rejected him, the city went back and added the word "accredited" to the job description.
His own fire chief, the man who has watched Andrew work, showed up to defend him:
"I feel the city of Fremont is really missing out here, and in my mind, because of his homeschooling, you guys are discriminating against him."
Over THIRTY homeschool families showed up to stand behind this kid.
And the Civil Service Commission? They said it isn't their job to touch city policy.
Homeschoolers are literally a generation of kids who read ABOVE grade level, who work with their HANDS, who volunteer in their communities, who show up for their neighbors.
And this young man is the proof.
At 22, he's a certified EMT and a volunteer firefighter, while plenty of his peers are on a couch.
When your house is on fire at 3 a.m., I promise you will not ask the man dragging your children out where he went to high school.
You will not ask if his diploma was accredited.
You will thank GOD he came.
Andrew isn't even fighting for himself anymore. His words:
"I think now it's turned into we want to make sure that every homeschooler has an equal opportunity."
That's a better man than the policy that rejected him.
Fremont, you have a licensed EMT and an active firefighter begging to serve your city. And you turned him down over paperwork, then rewrote the paperwork to cover it.
Fix this.
Hire him!!!!!!!

My wife and I worked on a project a few years ago to start a publishing company doing the exact thing @ChHouseBooks launched. So glad someone is doing this. Incredible work.
Blown away by the quality of @ChHouseBooks — we’ve been reading D’Aulaires Greek Myths for a month so far this year and now I’m going to add daily readings from this “Heroes and Wonders” set ✨
