It's an honor to be represented among such distinguished fellows. The future is bright.
Excited to announce that the Piraues will be teaming up with Oyarsa to host our 1st ever in-person event NEXT Monday, October 19 at noon in Nashville (afternoon of the 4th Thiel lecture)!
"Building on the Cultural Frontier" will be a lunch and panel discussion featuring leaders from our rapidly growing grassroots movement—citizen activists, independent scholars, and entrepreneurs working to revitalize Western culture and education outside of mainstream institutions.
The panel will introduce you to these leaders and their projects, discuss their visions for the future, and show you how to get involved.
Nick Gallo (@nickmgallo) will lead the discussion with the following panelists:
➤ Michael Millerman (@millerman) of The Millerman School, an online school of political philosophy teaching Strauss, Heidegger, Plato, and others, to discuss his vision of enriching political and philosophical discourse outside academia.
➤ Paul McNeil (@pbdmcniel) of The Wagon Box Inn (@thewagonbox) in Story, Wyoming, to discuss his vision of connecting online communities at real-world hubs, like the Wagon Box, which can serve as a model for similar projects across the country.
➤ Warren Steury(@NWSteury), founder of Meriwether Academy (@meriwetheracdmy), a Nashville-based men's group to discuss his vision for building men's civic organizations and boys' schools to revive the ideal of the American man.
➤ Tyler Mathews (@tchevezmathews), founder of Oyarsa (@oyarsanetwork), a St. Louis-based men's group to discuss his vision of connecting grassroots cultural groups with local business owners and entrepreneurs, and how St. Louis can serve as a model for other cities.
Discussion will be followed by a social hour. Light lunch is provided. Look forward to seeing you all there!

On December 4th, 2025, I attended an event at @pbdmcniel’s @thewagonbox retreat center titled “The Pilgrim Mindset,” during which I presented the piece below as a speech to the event attendees. Thank you for reading. God bless you. Link in reply and bio.
Have you gazed on naked grandeur
where there’s nothing else to gaze on,
Set pieces and drop-curtain scenes galore,
Big mountains heaved to heaven, which the blinding sunsets blazon,
Black canyons where the rapids rip and roar?
Have you swept the visioned valley
with the green stream streaking through it,
Searched the Vastness for a something you have lost?
Have you strung your soul to silence?
Then for God’s sake go and do it;
Hear the challenge, learn the lesson, pay the cost.
Want to send someone to the woods?
But only for the duration of a project?
@thewagonbox is calling for patrons.
Have you suffered, starved and triumphed,
groveled down, yet grasped at glory,
Grown bigger in the bigness of the whole?
“Done things” just for the doing, letting babblers tell the story,
Seeing through the nice veneer the naked soul?
Have you seen God in His splendors,
heard the text that nature renders?
(You’ll never hear it in the family pew).
The simple things, the true things, the silent men who do things —
Then listen to the Wild — it’s calling you.
They have cradled you in custom,
they have primed you with their preaching,
They have soaked you in convention through and through;
They have put you in a showcase; you’re a credit to their teaching —
But can’t you hear the Wild? — it’s calling you.
Let us probe the silent places, let us seek what luck betide us;
Let us journey to a lonely land I know.
There’s a whisper on the night-wind,
there’s a star agleam to guide us,
And the Wild is calling, calling. . .let us go.
You know who you are. It's time
If you love America; if you hate the Antichrist; if you enjoy both sincere and performative male reading; if you love the Midwest, the West, the Mountain West, old heroes of good example, and a cold drink with the lads; if you love God and believe we will one day occupy the Moon; if you believe that where two or three are gathered, the Spirit is there, then you should attend this event.
Buy a ticket. Make a trip across the country. Ask me for a discount code because of our mutuals. It's that important.
No one has ever seen Theodore Judson. Ever. No one has seen the power of the Spirit of St. Louis. But I have, and I will show it to you.
If you attend.
Based Aspen, or Based Woodstock?
Let's get a bus from Nashville to @thewagonbox for a big event next summer.

debt? civilization? salvation? whiffs of postapocalytpic cybernetics @thewagonbox
It has been great seeing @NWSteury (@meriwetheracdmy ) and @realpamphleteer at the Wagon Box, and watching their projects in Nashville. Many Wagon Lads will be in attendance.
Rumor has it that @docMJP conceived of this great event in a tent by the stream at @thewagonbox. Nice to see familiar faces of @JOEBOTxyz @jon_stokes. Other Wagon lads on site. Kudos to @Zcash for their support.
This is going to be a great event. If you're within striking distance of St. Louis, or want to visit midde-America's hidden gem, attend this event!

This is an excellent opportunity to disappear and hunker down. Seriously consider this for whatever project you are working on.
If you want to get some serious work done in a beautiful setting, with hiking, fishing, hunting and more nearby, you could not easily beat @thewagonbox and its residency program.
Disappear for a month, your needs met and your time all your own.
