A thread on letting my daughters dress themselves and do it well (featuring the Sarris’ children)🧵
Preparing an Italian feast and reading the beautiful Columbus book by the D’Aulaires’ in honor of the great explorer!
Thank you Riverbend Press and @ChHouseBooks for the delightful resources!
I’m not against EdTech in principle, but I think there are some very real drawbacks that go further than the reflexive “I don’t like screens arguments.” We’ve landed on allowing our 6yo to use Synthesis Tutor as a supplement to her core Singapore math curriculum (thank you @jessegenet for the recommendation!) However, I feel much more resistant to introducing screen-based reading resources.
I should also mention that I don’t think these thoughts necessarily extend to children in school. Comparing one-on-one AI tutoring with instruction in a large classroom is very different from comparing one-on-one in-person tutoring with current AI tutors.
It’s a good thing babies are so charming because they’re always doing such terribly antisocial things like taking bites out of all the plums and popping the yolks before you can sit down to your perfectly poached eggs.
