Right now, the biggest risk to financial markets is an oil shock, as it impacts everything. #CrudeOil is heading back towards all-time highs, and US WTI is closing the gap with Brent. The world’s oil problem is becoming a US problem too. Meanwhile, another concern is market concentration. 📈 The world’s 100 largest companies now account for 43% of the global market cap. That level of concentration is rare and usually appears only at major market peaks. Eventually, that concentration will reverse. We saw major rotations in 1975, 2003, and 2009, and the latest market rotation may already be underway. This is when the real opportunities kick in. Since 2015, oil refiners have outperformed oil producers, but that is set to change. 📈 Oil refiners’ margins (the crack spread) are at record highs, but the stocks are no longer the bargain they were in 2014. Meanwhile, the forward oil price is picking up, and the market is signalling that disruption is here to stay. Today’s Venture targets an oil producer with improving price performance, high returns, and low valuation. With forward oil prices poised to rise, this company is well positioned to benefit - link in reply 👇

The next big global stock rotation is under way, and it looks more like 2000 than 2009. Mega-caps are easing back, yet more stocks rose than fell last week. $URTH held flat as mid- and large-caps took up the slack. 📈 Emerging trends have exploded higher, bear trends are easing, and energy is outpacing tech hardware. In 20 years, we haven’t seen so few stocks outperforming the market — or so many lagging 📉 @AtlasPulse suspects the last time it was this extreme was at the 2000 dotcom peak. #Semiconductors are rolling over after failing to make new highs. A big rotation looks likely - time to prepare. 🛢️ Meanwhile, crude isn’t selling off despite the messaging. Oil for delivery in late-2027 is rising again, the market’s way of saying oil is staying "stronger for longer." 📈Crude oil spot and forward delivery (source: Bloomberg) This and more in the latest Multi-Asset Investor - link in reply👇 #Oil $BRNB $SPOG

UK small and mid-caps have been left behind this cycle. But look closer, and there are hidden gems. This week’s Venture pick is a UK payments business: 📉 Shares back at 2006 levels 📈 Sales rising nicely 💰 Strong share buybacks 💷 6% dividend yield And a new uptrend has just begun. You don’t see that very often. Link to the article in reply 👇 #UKStocks #SmallCaps #Investing

Only 9.4% of global stocks are outperforming the market right now; 46.7% are firmly underperforming. Market leadership has not been this narrow since before the Global Financial Crisis in 2008. This week’s Global Trends Investor from Charlie Morris and Kit Winder, CFA, is the first issue built on the newly released ByteTrend.io, with history now going back to 2006: 📈 Bond yields are the primary driver. The average trend score across 4,000 stocks is 1.4, against a long-run norm of around 2.5. Only the mega-caps are growing fast enough to justify their place, and they’re big enough to hold the index up on their own. 🗺️ Weakening breadth can signal trouble ahead. Deteriorating market breadth preceded the 2018 sell-off, the March 2020 crash, the 2022 bear market and the 2025 tariff shock. 🏆 Poland now tops the global table, ahead of Taiwan, while Asia and the Middle East weaken. The US 10-year yield has gone from under 4% to over 5.3% in 500 trading days or less. That has only happened once before, in June 2007. And it isn't happening in isolation. French government bond yields are at their highest since the 2011 euro crisis, and US mortgage rates are back at 2001 levels. Of the major markets, only China is seeing yields fall. Rising rates usually work against quality stocks, which behave a bit like bonds. But there is a tipping point. Once rates get high enough to worry investors about stretched valuations and a narrow market, the resilience of quality stocks starts to matter more. In this latest ByteTree Quality update, @AtlasPulse and @WinderKit explain why we are sticking to sound principles rather than chasing the late stages of a narrow and expensive rally. The 60/40 is dead, long live the 60/40? Following @biancoresearch's note on bonds and modified duration, @AtlasPulse dived into where bonds sit, from a multi-asset portfolio manager's perspective. "Going back to bonds versus equities in the UK, it is a reminder of how bonds have bailed out investors in the three major equity downturns since 2000, as shown in the blue boxes." Bitcoin drove BOLD in September. $BTC +6.7% $XAU -6.3% BOLD +0.7% Bitcoin followed its August rally with another strong month, while Gold pulled back as bond markets weakened. The BOLD strategy was built on the naturally low correlation between #Bitcoin and #Gold. Bitcoin tends to do well when markets are risk-on and Gold when they are risk-off. Holding both on a risk-weighted basis has kept BOLD's current drawdown at 6.9%, compared with 21.1% for gold and 31.2% for Bitcoin (📈👇). BOLD rebalances its Bitcoin and Gold weights based on their respective 360-day volatility, so the calmer asset gets more capital. At the end of 2024, Bitcoin's target weight was 25%. Following this month's rebalance, it is 42.9%. Repeatedly doing this adds value while maintaining a consistent level of risk. Read our latest monthly BOLD rebalancing report by @AtlasPulse to learn more about this Bitcoin and Gold strategy - link in reply 👇 In partnership with @21shares and @KaikoData.
