The reason so many UGC creators fucking suck and never make any real money is because they have an ego.
You want a guaranteed flat rate but you’ve never even gotten results for a brand. Like why the fuck would they pay you $500 a video?
I posted 300 videos on Trybe with no upfront payments. 300. And I’m only NOW starting to see results.
I’ve generated $4 million in sales through social media. I could charge $2–3k a video, but I’m still willing to put my ego aside and do this shit with zero upfront because I see how big the opportunity is.
Meanwhile some of you haven’t made a brand $100 and already think you’re too good for it lol.
I’m thinking about what this could turn into over the next year.
You’re passing on it because you need to get paid before you’ve even proven you can sell anything. Hilarious.

when a brand asks “what’s your rate?” do not send a number first.
send this:
“happy to send rates. can you confirm the deliverables, usage length, whether this is paid or organic, timeline, revisions, and whether raw footage is included?”
that is not overcomplicating it.
that is the job.
if you quote before you know usage, timeline, revisions, and rights, you are guessing.

If someone tells you they make $7-10k+/month with UGC and they claim they don’t work hard and make it out to seem easy… be weary of that. They’re most likely lying.
I’ve contracted the most amount of work this year, and that means I’ve worked the most I ever have in my entire life.
I’ve clocked more hours than my 9-5 ever had me clocking.
With all the admin work, the calls with clients, the scripting/filmings/editing AND keeping up with all the ends and outs of my personal brand… I work 9+ hours most days👀
It’s hard work, not passive income. Don’t get it twisted.

I keep seeing people saying how UGC is saturated.
UGC isn't saturated, bad UGC is. There are SO many DTC brands out there and in todays world, marketing & social media is everythingggg.
So no, UGC isn't saturated, there is always room for creators who understand marketing.

If I’m being completely honest...
I can usually tell whether a UGC creator will be successful or not.
All I have to do is ask if they know their analytics from the last 7 days.
How they answer that question tells me everything I need to know.

I have this ~series~ on my Insta where I talk to the cam, give edcuational/advocacy tips to creators. even though none of those are #ugcexamples, they still display my comfortability on camera, style of video, and personal brand...

I started UGC with 27 followers… so I’m not the best example 😭
but the more I showed up and made myself visible, the more inbounds came to me.
