Iâm tracing an inheritance my grandmother never received after her father died in 1958.
AI helped me search the archives, but I caught something: it had read a documentâs text while only sampling the scanned pages.
That matters when a single handwritten line can change the search.
Prompt I use now:
âConfirm what you can access: PDF text, page images, or both. Review 5 pages at a time. Log pages actually checked, names verbatim, handwriting and citations. Cross-reference earlier findings, flag contradictions and next leads. Mark anything unexamined UNCHECKED.â
Another finding for UGC creators
One creatorâs own website did show up in my AI search research.
Sheâd written an article explaining UGC rates.
AI cited her article when I asked about pricing. But when I asked which creators to hire, it didnât recommend her.
I found that particularly strange because she was clearly knowledgeable enough to be used as a source.
AI and my family research:
Iâve got historical records with Othmar, Ostty and Otto.
Iâm trying to establish which references are to the same person.
When I search with AI, I make it keep the original spelling and show me the source page.
One helpful spelling correction could make me miss a connection Iâve spent years trying to find.
I asked AI to find UGC creators for six different brand briefs.
18 creators came up.
None were found through their own websites.
Four were named in a single article written by someone else.
Iâve spent so much time thinking about how creators can get brands to find them.
I genuinely didnât expect one article to do more for those four people than their own portfolios did in this test.
The weirdest result from that researchđ§
I asked AI which UGC creators understand usage rights pricing.
It gave me eight sources and not a single creatorâs name.
Just marketplaces and articles explaining usage rights.
Meanwhile there are creators negotiating paid usage and licensing terms every day.
I want to know why none of them showed up..
I donât want my research system to return one answer.
I want:
CONFIRMED
SUPPORTED
POSSIBLE
CONTRADICTED
UNRESOLVED
And I want every label tied to evidence.
The stereotype is true. The older you get, the more youâre keen on history.
Iâm currently fascinated with Latin America and Switzerland relations regarding imports/exports in the 1930s-1970s.
Anyone else?
Oracleâs AI security system found more potential vulnerabilities in two weeks than it had found in the previous year.
Around 60â70% were false positives.
Thatâs a perfect example of AI making one metric look incredible while creating a pile of work underneath it.
Track confirmed issues per reviewer hour and time to disposition.
Also: what are you distributing?
Information? Awareness? Product pages? Where? To who? How?
Distribution goes beyond the literal distribution of the product itself.
everyone: "just do distribution bro"
meanwhile, actual distribution:
> cold email: 95% ignore you
> redd!t: one wrong move and you're banned
> SEO: 3 months talking to a wall
> mass DMs: works but makes you hate your life
> social media: ghosted
and ppl wonder why founders would rather spend 12 hours coding than 1 hour marketing
the best channel is the one you won't quit after 2 weeks

A brand wants a $300 UGC video.
Then they ask for 12 months of paid usage, the raw footage, category exclusivity and permission to generate more ads with your likeness.
Iâd love to know how many creators are pricing the video before reading the rest of that sentence.
Astra for Law is interesting bc it exposes how much professional judgment usually lives outside the model.
OpenAI had to decide which legal sources count, how theyâre searched, how analysis is instructed and where review still sits.
Every vertical AI product has some version of those decisions hiding inside the profession.

Search asks:
âWhere does this name appear?â
Investigation asks:
âWhy does this name appear here, who else appears around it, what happened before and after, and what evidence would connect those things?â
Giving an AI search tools doesnât automatically make it an investigator.
UGC creators, open a fresh ChatGPT Search and pretend youâre a brand.
Ask it to find five creators in your niche and country.
Make it show you where it found each person.
Now look at those pages.
I learned more from checking the actual sources than from looking at the names AI recommended.

One creator had written an article explaining UGC rates.
AI found her article when I asked about pricing.
Then I asked which creators to hire.
Her name disappeared.
Iâm fascinated by this because someone can be knowledgeable enough to get cited and still be overlooked as someone to work with.
The AI research mistakes I worry about most arenât invented facts.
Theyâre quieter:
Two similar names become one person.
Five articles repeating the same source become âfive sources.â
âPossibleâ quietly becomes âlikely.â
âLikelyâ becomes a sentence written as fact.
Thatâs how a research system contaminates itself.
hot take: âagentâ is way too broad a permission class.
two settings keep getting bundled together that absolutely should not:
what an agent can access
â¨what it can do without asking
a research agent can have broad read access and almost no write authority.
a payment agent can touch one narrow system and still
require approval every time.

I wish creator marketplaces made licensing terms as easy to compare as hotel booking sites make room options.
30-day paid usage.
12-month paid usage.
Raw footage.
Exclusivity.
AI likeness rights.
Imagine searching for creators and being able to see exactly what the brand is asking to buy.
