What’s next, historic parking lots?
entire point of the bikelane fad is to wipe-out the public’s access to parallel parking on our heritage public streets

Yes, this is exactly why you should be driving 15. Kids aren’t exactly known for their judgment, even if well taught.
Parents have responsibilities. When I was 5, my parents taught me not to step off the curb. I was only allowed on 1 side street with little traffic. Are they still taught that today? We shouldn’t have to drive at 15 mph just because a kid might step out from between parked cars.

Guess you really don’t like them if you aren’t willing to take the train.
The McGuinness boulevard redesign was enough for me to stop visiting my brother in law and sister in law in Long Island City. These people are incompetent. My hope is the businesses affected by these redesigns see a heavy decline in property values and in turn property taxes

It’s always a conspiracy.
Bikes are moved so it shows that bikes are used. When a bike is moved from rack to rack it's counted as a trip, yes at some point Citibike alters the data but no one ever sees the raw data. This is a tactic used to show use on rack when there is no use. Citi bike has never been audited for this raw data since its inception

The truck driver didn’t have to do anything. He or she chose to unload illegally.
3rd Ave redesign is a disaster. This is few weeks ago at 3pm after just a sprinkle of rain. No one is using the bike lanes. The loading truck had to use the bus lane.

Damn e-bikes
A woman was killed in a hit-and-run in Brooklyn, a man was left in critical condition after being mowed down by a car in the Bronx and a motorcycle rider died after crashing on the Lower East Side, all within an eight-hour span, police said. nydailynews.com/2026/08/29/w…

Better license e-bikes.
Violent multi-car hit and run collision claims the life of a father of 5 riding his bike home from work in the Bronx. Suspect ditched car and jumped into another vehicle that took off.

Unfortunately pathetic Len blocked me so I can’t respond in line. But you should know that toll revenue doesn’t just go to roads. And 0% of congestion pricing funds roads.
Huh? YOU need to do research. Excess toll revenue: 1.34 Billion mta.info/document/199021 Plus congestion pricing revenue: 562 million nypost.com/2026/02/03/us-new… Greater than the DOT roads budget of 1.57 billion council.nyc.gov/budget/wp-co… Now, respectfully... Go fuck yourself.

The confusion being that a lot people living here full time have been using their vacation/other family’s homes out of the city to pay cheaper car insurance or skip out on city income taxes, and now they can’t update their license at the DMV in time to submit for an exemption

Whataboutism is essential here: when car drivers maim or kill, they do not face any consequences unless they are intoxicated. This is indisputable. I have names and cases off the top of my head. This poor woman was victimized and deserves justice. Tell me what the difference is?

New @nberpubs paper: New York City's congestion pricing saved lives. Exploiting the sharp discontinuity in the congestion pricing zone at 60th street, the authors use 1.6M EMS incidents to estimate the effect of congestion pricing on ambulance travel times. They find that congestion pricing reduces travel time by 63-70 seconds, equivalent to a 5-6 percent reduction. Given that (they report) mortality rises ~1 percentage point per additional minute of response time, that's a real improvement in terms of lives saved. As they write, "modest improvements in ambulance travel times may generate important welfare consequences, particularly given the volume of EMS incidents in a dense urban environment like Manhattan." nber.org/papers/w35414

I’d be happy to share with you Kathleen, but you just blocked me. Scared of data?
Data from all over the world suggests otherwise.

46% of NYC households own cars. Most of them don’t use for every trip to go somewhere. In fact nearly every car owner I know uses transit to get into Manhattan. Finally only a tiny % of Manhattanites drive on the aves DOT’s greenwave will go in. Folks need to stop their crying.
Replying to @NYC_DOT
How about a green wave for the 46% of NYers that drive and the others that use FHVs, buses, instead of prioritizing the 3% of NYers that bike?
