Code is not necessarily art, same as writing on paper isn't. Both can be a medium for the muses, or for the most ludicrous whim of the upper management. It just so happens that some very creative minds are behind the code that let's us speak our minds online. I hope we can keep that spark alive.

I agree. The power dynamic makes it sound impolite. But with all the stuff we go through as founders, getting offended by this wouldn't even cross my mind. Perhaps now, on the other side of the counter, it's become more evident, and you can empathise.

That said, I don't think it's generally said with malice, and getting offended by it would demonstrate a terrible lack of character.
