We have received an extremely concerning report that the Sheikh Radwan primary health care centre in northern #Gaza was struck today while parents were bringing their children to the life-saving #polio vaccination in an area where a humanitarian pause was agreed to allow vaccination to proceed. Six people, including four children, were injured. A @WHO team was at the site just before. This attack, during humanitarian pause, jeopardises the sanctity of health protection for children and may deter parents from bringing their children for vaccination. These vital humanitarian-area-specific pauses must be absolutely respected. Ceasefire!

The situation unfolding in northern #Gaza is apocalyptic. I join the @iascch leaders in urging, yet again, all parties fighting in Gaza to protect civilians, and call on #Israel to cease its assault on Gaza and on the humanitarians trying to help — there is no alternative to @UNRWA. Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern #Gaza is still under siege, but we managed to get in touch with the staff. Three health workers and another employee have been injured, 44 health workers have been detained and four ambulances damaged. Around 600 patients, health workers and individuals are currently sheltering in the hospital. The siege and attacks on health workers occurred just hours after the @WHO-led mission which delivered essential supplies to keep the facility operational and took critical patients to Al-Shifa Hospital. We urge for hospitals, health workers and patients to be protected. Ceasefire!

Intense bombardments, mass displacements and lack of assured humanitarian pauses have forced the postponement of the second-dose #polio vaccination in northern #Gaza, which aimed to reach over 119 000 children under ten years. Having a significant number of children miss out on their second vaccine dose will seriously jeopardize efforts to stop the transmission of poliovirus in Gaza. We continue to call for an immediate ceasefire.

A reported attack on the Indonesian Hospital in #Gaza last night resulted in injuries to 40 patients and medical staff. The hospital's generator was hit, leaving it without electricity, resulting in the death of two critical patients. Yesterday, an attack on Al Awda Hospital was reported, causing injuries to the medical staff. Hostilities in the vicinity of hospitals can quickly make them non-functional by compromising access. We cannot request any more loudly: health care must be protected. @WHO is planning a mission to Kamal Adwan hospital tomorrow to deliver fuel, medical supplies, blood, food, and transfer critical patients to Shifa hospital. It is vital that Kamal Adwan and Al-Awda hospitals remain operational. We call for sustained and safe access to reach all patients and health workers in need. We call for an immediate ceasefire!

Almost everyone in #Gaza is going hungry according to the latest assessment. This is inhumane. @WHO calls for immediate access for all humanitarian aid, starting with food and medicine for severely malnourished children, who need to be treated urgently. WHO continues to call for a ceasefire. The best medicine is peace.
