🧠 Rethinking Decision-Making in Disorders of Consciousness
How do we make healthcare decisions for people in a Disorder of Consciousness (DoC)? Decisions aim to reflect their best interests, but how well do we truly achieve this?
Teresa Clark’s PhD research (@UniofNottingham, @RHNuk) introduces risk-making theory, highlighting overlooked social factors in DoC decision-making. This work hopes to help families & clinicians feel more confident in their choices.

Thank you Howard. Wales should not have to rely on recruiting registered nurses from other countries. @cardiffuni has a part to play in the health ecosystem. Your role as co-chair of the @WHO State of the World’s Nursing Report as a Cardiff alumnus is a positive example of influence. #HealthForAll
Today I wrote to Cardiff University asking them to reconsider the decision to close their Nursing school. As a Cardiff alumnus I know how highly regarded the University is and globally it is imperative we invest in nursing education if we are to deliver #HealthForAll

🦠 Antibiotic resistant urinary tract infections (UTIs) are common in women, yet many aren't given urine tests before being prescribed preventive antibiotics.
🧪 More urine testing for women with recurrent UTIs would improve choice of antibiotic: evidence.nihr.ac.uk/alert/re…

A critical report & as highlighted the decline in clinical researchers - doctors, nurses, allied health etc has serious consequences both for the healthcare system & the economy. Nurses & midwives make up more >50% of the workforce time to make research a core part of their role
A new report has outlined an urgent need to address the declining number of clinical researchers in the UK. Professors @LucyChappell2 and @WaljitD alongside other key partners contributed to the report and a set of key recommendations to tackle the issue at a national level.
