A highly informative post by @AinnieAS on who initially built the Lahore fort & how it was reshaped by successive Mughal rulers into a towering monument evoking mixed feelings today. It is also part of history that Gen Zia turned it into torture cell for political prisoners.
Lahore Fort was rebuilt by Malik Ayaz Ghazni; adorned by Akbar and his successors According to securely documented history Lahore fort was built long before Mughals. Records say 1st Ghaznavid governor of Lahore Malik Ayaz rebuilt the fort and its walls (Ian Talbot &Tahir Kamran,2017) which is backed by the archaeological excavation report of Department of Archaeology and Museums Government of Pakistan 1959. Who built it originally??? In the said excavation a gold coin from Ghaznavid period and occupation levels much older than the Ghaznavid period( pre Muslim era); a roughly 12feet high mud brick wall was recorded. Archaeologists regard it as the fortress which was attacked by Mehmud of Ghazni during his invasion. Akbar brought transformation to the fort and turned it into an extraordinary monument. He shaped the fort with the use of baked brick and red sand stone:that gave birth to richly embellished and adorned palaces and courts at the fort. Jahangir added more decoration and a striking feature as Picture Wall. Picture Wall is a fine piece of Art with glazed tiles, mosaic work, geometric designs, courtly scenes, flora and fauna. Shah Jahan brought white marble- built Sheesh Mehal, Naulakha Pavillion, Moti masjid, mirror work and petra-dura into the heart of the fort. Aurangzeb gave gigantic and monumental the Alamgiri Gate facing Badshahi Mosque. Later, it became royal residence of Ranjit Singh and then came under the use of British.

Forget about planes, many people had not traveled on trains either.. I remember my aunt had a servant girl who had never been in a train.. when my aunt was going for an annual pilgrimage to her pir 10 miles away, she once took an unnecessary train ride so that girl could experience a train..

In Abbottabad mountain Sarban has Raja Risalu s cave, it's now much narrowed, a legend about Raja s wife & App man, Raja Risalu chased the beast but entered a cave & Raja blocked the entrance with boulders.
The Second Gujrat: Kaujan Nagri of Raja Risalu’s Daughter 2.Kaujan Nagri When Sialkot was founded by Raja Salivahan Gujrat fell under his jurisdiction. His grand daughter Kaur Jan daughter of Raja Riasalu of Sialkot founded another city on the ruins of Udenagri and named as “Kaujan Nagri”. The city enjoyed a peaceful of era for decades and was destroyed by Mehmud of Ghazna for the second time. In a controversial opinion sir Alexander Cunningham (first Director General of Archaeological Survey of India) believed second city of Gujrat was founded by Ali khan/Alakhana, Raja of Gujrara who was defeated by Sangkara Verma in 883-901AC and it was destroyed in 1303 when Mongols we’re threatening India during the reign of Ala-ud-Khilji. Whichever is true, it’s fact that after destruction it remained deserted for long and used as grazing grounds for cattle of Jats and Rajputs who had divided it in southern and northern halves. 3. Gujrat-Akbarabad It has been discussed earlier in detail.

Just because Khizar Hayat Tiwana was opposed to Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah it doesn't mean that his Tiwana clan was opposed to him too. In fact chief of Tiwana clan had also joined the league. Reference: Muslim Politics in Punjab 1921-47 by S. Qalbi-i-Abid

Syed Ahmed شہید tried to form a muslim polity with the backing of Afgans & Pakhtoons ,but the sardars conspired to defeat Syed, even sided with Sikhs.
Role of Syed Ahmed Shaheed Against Sikh Rule Syed Ahmed Shaheed was a renowned Muslim personality who played a significant role in resisting the invading and ruling Sikh Empire. The period of Sikh rule is commonly known as “Sikha Shahi.” During this period, the native population faced severe hardships, as the Sikh rulers were largely uninterested in the welfare and development of the state. Syed Ahmed Shaheed organized small military units and offered strong resistance against the Sikh rulers. He also attempted to capture the Attock Fort with the support of his companions and the local people of the Chach Plain. However, the plan was intercepted by the caretaker of the fort before it could be executed. Consequently, the people who were involved in the conspiracy were captured and severely punished (Khan, 2011: 75).
