Such a Senseless and shameless generation of leaders. May this never be said of us, too. A kind healthcare is Possible in Nigeria. Cc @AKindHealthCare
This is former Nigerian Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, being used in a hospital advert after undergoing knee replacement surgery in India. These so-called “experienced leaders” had every opportunity while in power to build first-class healthcare facilities in Nigeria. Yet, in old age, they travel abroad for the very medical care they failed to make adequately available at home and can even end up as advertisements for foreign hospitals. At this rate, perhaps one day a hospital in France will be using a Nigerian president, Tinubu for its adverts. What a tragic indictment of decades of failed leadership and neglect of Nigeria’s healthcare system.

Love to see more debate before the next election. Cc @EKoPublicDebate @BeforeNextflood @BeforeNextFL00D
Dear Tokunbo Wahab, You are so full of lengthy explanations, with little by way of solutions. Plenty of prose, very little results. I can offer you some small clues as to why there is so much flooding in Lagos State. 1. It might not be obvious to you and your principals, but most Lagosians and even foreigners can see it clear as day - REFUSE! GARBAGE! WASTE! If you're not packing the refuse, it will stack up and be washed into the drainage by the rain. Citizens don't even have to dump their refuse in the drains. The rain will do it for them. 2. Roads and Drains: Do you have any idea how many roads (and therefore the accompanying drains) that Lagos State has per km² of land? I checked. It's 1.3km of roads (much of them in various states of disrepair), per km² of land. Singapore has 13.6km of roads (and therefore, drains) per km² of land. In case you're wondering what this has to do with flooding - more drains means less water on the road surfaces. Solutions: 1. Clear the existing drains and main drainage channels of waste. 2. Build more roads and drains - it is clear ALL OVER LAGOS, that we lack enough roads. Many main roads are congested unnecessarily because the communities they traverse are not connected by alternative roads. 3. Build boardwalks (embankments) on all of the lagoon and river shorelines, and use sluice gates and high-powered water pumps to regulate water levels inland of the gates I am merely putting out this information because these are just some of the pragmatic, practical measures @GRVlagos and I will implement to alleviate the perennial flooding problem. 27 years of incompetence have shown us that your APC government is completely and unarguably incapable of implementing these simple measures. If we all work together with @GRVlagos, we can Make Èkó Great Again. #VoteGRV2027 #VoteADC #TakeYourFitnessSeriously #MakeEkoGreatAgain #MEGA2027

This is a former Nigerian head of state being used as advert material for a private hospital promo clip in India. Nigerian leaders will squander the chance to build world-class hospitals but do nothing then later go to other countries to seek healthcare from those nations who were not as stupid as them. What a shame.

Sorry for your experience, Ms Ganiya. One crucial lesson from this video is Nigerians need to learn to treat each other with respect & dignity at all times. We must learn to demand Civility and hold each other to account on it. Sorry again and have a nice day @1LuckyCinemaRun

🌧️ EIA Can Help Reduce Flooding in Lagos Flooding does not begin when the rain starts. It often begins much earlier—when development takes place without properly understanding the natural drainage system, waterways, wetlands and flood-prone areas. Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) helps us ask the right questions before construction begins: 🏗️ Where will stormwater go? EIA assesses drainage patterns and requires appropriate stormwater management measures. 🌊 Will the project obstruct natural waterways? It helps identify and avoid activities that could block or alter existing drainage channels. 🌿 What happens to wetlands and natural flood buffers? EIA considers the role of wetlands, vegetation and other natural systems in absorbing and slowing stormwater. 🏘️ Will the development increase flooding in surrounding communities? Potential impacts beyond the project boundary can be identified and mitigation measures proposed. 🛣️ Are roads, buildings and drainage infrastructure properly planned together? EIA promotes integrated planning rather than treating drainage as an afterthought. 📋 And most importantly—will mitigation measures actually be implemented? Environmental Management Plans and monitoring requirements help ensure that commitments made during the assessment are followed through. EIA is not just paperwork. It is preventive environmental planning. Before we build, let us understand the water. Before we cover the land, let us protect the drainage pathways. Before flooding becomes a crisis, let us assess the risks. 🌱 Better EIA. Better Planning. Safer Communities. Protect our waterways. Respect drainage paths. Build responsibly. #EIA #EnvironmentalImpactAssessment #FloodManagement #LagosFlooding #LagosEnvironment #SustainableDevelopment #ClimateResilience #Drainage #Wetlands #BuildResponsibly

If DEMOCRACY is the government of the people and the people decide to CHOOSE A MORON as their Leader or allowed any rig his or her way into Leadership, shouldn't the burden be on the people??? @ACivicTechStory @CivicBreadxVote
President Tinubu has signed the Electoral Act 2026, and it removes certificate forgery as a ground for challenging election results at tribunals. Politicians can no longer be disqualified over fake credentials. But for hardworking Nigerians, submitting a fake certificate means job loss, blacklisting, and prosecution. For the political class, the rules are different. A double standard has been written into law, and the 2027 elections will be contested under this new reality.
