In this season of fiscal constraint & consolidation, someone has come up with the truly bright idea of establishing a statutory commission entirely devoted the monitoting of rapidly dwindling foreign aid & grant payments to beneficiaries in #Nigeria.
The problem is that the National Planning Commission already exists to do just that. There is no reason why another commission is needed. And what will it do on top of what the National Planning Commission is already mandated to do? Nothing!

It really is a National day of mourning.
Nothing really to celebrate.
Just look at these stats.

I have just finished reading the judgment of @fcthighcourt earlier this month awarding N100m against @SERAPNigeria for defamation.
To call this judgment a travesty is to do injustice to travesties. The facts do not add up to a case in defamation. To the extent that anything was made out, even the evidence by the claimants supports the claim by @SERAPNigeria that their office was invaded.
It is, of course, possible that the judge did not study law or, perhaps, that the judge chose to administer something other than law in this case. But, if this judgment was issued in the name of law, then all I can say is that the judgment is corrupt and crooked on the face of the record.

3,033 people abducted in one year (2025)
That number is easy to scroll past until you imagine what it really means.
It means thousands of empty seats at dinner tables. Children waiting for parents who never returned. Mothers sleeping without knowing where their sons or daughters are. Families selling everything they own, hoping for ransom calls that may never come.
Some months were worse than others. November alone recorded at least 747 abductions. August saw 400. May recorded 306. Behind every spike in the data are communities living through fear, displacement, and silence.
For many Nigerians, abduction is no longer shocking news. It has become a constant possibility. Parents worry when children leave for school. Travelers pray before entering the road. Entire communities sleep with one ear open.
These are not just statistics on a chart. They are lives interrupted, homes broken, and futures stolen.
The Nigerian Constitution declares that the security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government. Nigerians deserve more than promises. They deserve protection, safety, and decisive action against the violence tearing communities apart.

14 DAYS TO #NDOM2026
We remember the families in Woro and countless other communities across Nigeria carrying the pain of violence every single day.
176 women and children are still in captivity after the attack on Woro. Behind that number are mothers, daughters, and children whose families are still waiting for them to come home.
For many Nigerians, mourning is no longer a moment. It has become a way of life.
We remember the lives lost, stand with those still waiting, and call on the government to act with urgency to protect lives and bring the missing home.

Twelve years on, we remember the Chibok girls, 276 dreams stolen from their classrooms in 2014.
With over 80 still missing, their absence is a lasting wound, and their courage remains a call to action. Remembrance is not passive;

Injustice shd always be condemned.
I did intense litigation in #Nigeria under #militaryrule. Even then, everyone knew that applications for the liberty of citizens had to have priority.
An application for bail falls into that category.
My views on the #VileLittleMan, @elrufai, are well advertised. But I care about justice more.
There is absolutely no excuse for Rilwan Aikawa, the judge at his arraignment at @FederalHigh in Kaduna, to take 2 weeks to rule on a bail application.
That is not administration of justice; it is not even administration of law.
Let's call it by its name: #JudicialMalpractice. And that is not the 1st time it is happening in this case.
