ICYMI: A Grade 11 student spoke out about what’s happening in post-secondary education in Ontario. From cuts to OSAP grants, to lifting the tuition freeze, to declining funding per student, students are feeling the impact. As Arushi Nath, a Canada Top Young Scientist Award winner, writes, students are not an expense. They are an investment in Ontario’s future. Congratulations to Arushi Nath, former CAGIS member and recipient of the Third Grand Award in the Physics and Astronomy Category at the 75th Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF)! 🏆🌟 Arushi competed as part of Team Canada at the ISEF! Her project, “NEPTUNE: Novel Exoplanet Prediction Technique Using N-body Simulations, Bayesian Estimation, and Machine Learning,” is designed to detect unseen exoplanets by analyzing Transit Timing Variations (TTVs) of known planets. There were nearly 80 other submissions in her category from all over the world! Arushi reflected on her time in CAGIS: "CAGIS sparked my curiosity and courage to ask questions from the moment my father began taking me to events—from meteorology at a news studio to exploring chemical and bioengineering labs at the University of Toronto. Wearing lab coats, seeing real experiments, handling equipment, and conducting my own experiments was thrilling. These hands-on experiences ignited my passion for science and taught me that the best way to learn is actually to teach others" Well done Arushi and the rest of Team Canada! #IESF25 #GirlsInSTEM #Physics #Astronomy #MachineLearning #TeamCanada #Exoplanets #InternationalScienceAndEngineeringFair #CIW25

We're so inspired by 2024 Barron Prize winner Artash, who created MonitorMyOcean.com to investigate and display changes in human-caused ocean noise. His latest project, You-OCEANS, uses AI to estimate whale diversity & population. Such fantastic work! app.newsomatic.net/2024/9/26…

I had the immense pleasure of meeting the profoundly smart Arushi @wonrobot today as we appeared on a television show together - to be revealed next week! She taught me more about the SolarEclipse2024 in a few mins than I learned in weeks of research. Follow her, she's a genius!
When I met stand-up comedian @jamesmullinger today, I suggested he wear solar glasses during the 8th April solar eclipse, and he asked, "So the Sun doesn't recognize me?" From then on, our conversation was completely eclipsed by his brilliant sense of humor. #SolarEclipse2024
