Crews are currently replacing streetcar tracks on King West that have reached their end of life. During this work, we *should* be installing newer double-point switch designs and modern control systems.

How much faster would GO trains be if they used electrical multiple unit (EMU) trains? Today, a 33.7km trip from Pickering to Union station makes 6 stops and takes 45 minutes Our proposed local EMU service would make 13 stops, and take only 36 minutes.
Did you know that Munich S Bahn trains accelerate extremely fast? 0-100km/h: 27 seconds 0-140km/h: 46 seconds Compare that to GO trains: 0-100km/h: 90 seconds High performance EMUs will change the GO network. Keep an eye out for MTSO service concept proposals coming soon.

Woodbine GO construction is underway and it'll be a great station for the area. However, current station and TOD plans seem to be overlooking a future extension of the Finch West LRT. We wrote an article a few months ago about why this is so important. moretransitso.substack.com/p…
Major construction is underway at the new Woodbine GO Station! 🚆   The station will connect thousands more riders to the Kitchener GO Line, UP Express and local transit, while making it easier to get to Pearson Airport and destinations across the region.   Our government is building the transit infrastructure Ontario needs to cut travel times, fight gridlock and keep people moving.
