SOME IMPORTANT TOPICS YOU MUST DISCUSS WITH YOUR PARTNER DURING COURTSHIP Courtship is a time of intentional relationship-building, where couples explore various aspects of their compatibility and lay the foundation for a healthy and fulfilling partnership. It is a period for getting to know each other on a personal and deeper level, understanding each other’s personalities, interests, beliefs, and aspirations. As such, here are some important topics that intending couples MUST discuss during courtship: 1. Relationship Roles and Expectations: Talk about your intentions, expectations regarding roles, responsibilities, and decision-making within the relationship. Clarify boundaries, discuss household chores, and establish mutual respect and equality. 2. Communication Styles: Understand each other’s communication preferences, including listening habits, tone, mood, and conflict resolution methods. 3. Shared Interests and Hobbies: Identify common interests, hobbies, and activities you enjoy together and plan how to incorporate them into your relationship. 4. Discuss how your differences enrich your relationship and how you will navigate potential challenges related to cultural or social differences. 5. Spiritual and Emotional Compatibility: Explore your beliefs, values, and spirituality. Discuss how you will support each other’s faith journey and navigate challenges together. Open up about your emotional needs, communication styles, and ways to strengthen your relationship. 6. Intimacy and Boundaries: Discuss boundaries, expectations, and preferences regarding physical intimacy, affection, and personal space. 7. Family Planning: Talk about your views on family size, parenting styles, and roles and responsibilities as parents. Discuss fertility and any concerns or preferences related to starting a family. 8. Financial Goals: Discuss your individual financial situations, earnings, spending habits, and long-term financial goals. How will you handle finances as a couple? Create a budget and plan for savings, investments, and major expenses. 9. Career Aspirations and Life Goals: Share your career aspirations, educational pursuits, and personal goals. How do you envision balancing work and family life? 10. Health and Wellness: Address topics related to physical health, mental well-being, and self-care. Discuss any health concerns, lifestyle habits, and strategies for supporting each other’s overall health and happiness. 11. Family Relationships and Social Circle Integration: Talk about relationships with extended family members, in-laws, and plans for spending holidays and special occasions. Plan how to integrate and navigate each other's social circles, friendships, and relationships with family and friends. 12. Conflict Resolution: Establish healthy communication patterns and strategies for resolving conflicts peacefully and constructively. 13. Past Experiences and Baggage: Address any past relationships, experiences, or trauma that may affect your current relationship and emotional well-being. 14. Life Logistics: Address practical matters such as living arrangements and daily routines. Plan for shared expenses, household management, and any logistical considerations relevant to your future together. 15. Future Plans and Ambitions: Discuss long-term plans, ambitions, and dreams for your life together, including travel, career goals, and retirement plans. 16. Emotional Support and Care: Address emotional needs, vulnerabilities, and ways to support each other through life's challenges and triumphs. 17. Women, please document your happy seasons. Take the pictures. Write the little things down. Record the random Tuesday when nothing particularly special happened but you were happy anyway. One day, you will look back and realise that some of the most beautiful parts of your life were happening quietly.

Real men pray the Rosary. ❤️ Catholic men, old and young, gathered together, kneeling before the statue of the Mother of God to pray the Rosary asking for Her intercession. 🥺 In this month of October, make it a habit to pray the Rosary 📿. May the Blessed Virgin, continue to intercede for us all.

Nigerian-American basketball star Nneka Ogwumike has officially retired from the WNBA after an illustrious 15-year career. Born in Tomball, Texas, to Nigerian parents and raised in an Igbo household, Nneka grew up alongside her three sisters, including fellow WNBA player Chiney Ogwumike. She went on to play college basketball at Stanford, where she established herself as one of the best players in the country. In 2012, the Los Angeles Sparks selected her No. 1 overall in the WNBA Draft. She won Rookie of the Year in her first season and later became the 2016 WNBA MVP and champion with the Sparks. She spent 13 of her 15 WNBA seasons in Los Angeles, with two seasons at the Seattle Storm. She was also named an All-Star 11 times and became one of the most accomplished players in WNBA history. (WNBA) Beyond basketball, Nneka served as president of the WNBA Players Association from 2016 and played a major role in advocating for players and the growth of women’s basketball. After 15 seasons, Nneka announced her retirement in August, saying she felt “grateful, fulfilled, and at peace.” She played her final WNBA game on September 24, finishing with 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Sparks. (WNBA) A remarkable career comes to an end, but the legacy of our proud Igbo daughter continues. @nnekaogwumike

Jesus, Take the Wheel This evening I got into my car for a quick run to the supermarket. Pressed the start button , or so I believed, and spent the next thirty seconds locked in a battle with my car. Something was immediately off as the steering wheel felt very stiff and wouldn’t budge. I pressed the accelerator with the impatience of a man who has places to be. Nothing. The car screeched loudly but did not move. I sighed, gave up, and rest my head against the wheel, frustrated that the engine was faulty and I would have to call my mechanic Mr Musibau who probably has my name saved as “God sent” on his phone— and that's when my eyes drifted to the gearbox. Park. The car was still in park?! Ugh It had never properly started. There was nothing wrong with the engine. The only malfunction in that vehicle was me I guess. I laughed at myself for a good moment, shifted to drive, and rolled off to buy my groceries. The lesson of this seemingly trivial event followed me down the road…. You cannot steer a parked car. No matter how hard you try. I say "Jesus, take the wheel" a lot. Sometimes as a joke, other times because I'm genuinely overwhelmed by the size of an idea living rent-free in my head. I'm a dreamer, and the beautiful thing about dreaming your way through the world is that you see possibilities clearly in your mind long before they collide with reality. The trouble is that the magnitude of what you see can overwhelm you so completely that you never begin. So you sit still, thinking about direction, timing, the perfect plan, the right path, the myth clarity at the very beginning Meanwhile, the car is still in park. Physics explains that an object at rest stays at rest. And I suspect much of life obeys the same principle. We wait endlessly to know which direction to go before we move, without realizing that moving is the very thing that reveals direction. Once the car is in motion, you can steer. Turn left. Turn right. Slow down. Reverse. You can even turn around completely and take another road altogether. But none of those choices are available to you while parked. I know that starting is hard. Beginning anything new and the discovery of what we are truly capable of, comes with a resistance that feels almost physical, like the world itself is testing whether you mean it. And I say this as someone who struggles so much with this. Maybe that’s why this small debacle in my car today feels so deeply meaningful to me because I'm at an inflection point in my own life. I'm trying to start something new, and I've suffered so much in my head, procrastinating, polishing and perfecting a thing that doesn’t exist in the world yet. So I’m gonna start today (for real this time) and find out where it leads. Lumi says as we walk, the way appears. And even Jesus, I suspect, would rather take the wheel of a moving car. So, my friend, this is your sign. Stop suffering in your thoughts and start the car. Jesus loves a moving car. Only then does he take the wheel and steer it towards the depths of your calling. So get out of your own head, and out of his way. A moving surely meets his own luck someday.

A visa was delivered to my house in two days. I didn't even have to leave the house. Years ago, I was denied visas multiple times, including a Canadian visa, even when I had a scholarship, extensive documentation, and had gone through the entire rigorous application process. 1

My 3 months clinical posting came to an end today🥹. The scientists were so good to us, and we’re leaving 100× better. They threw us a mini party, gave us gifts ; a temperature flask, money and snacks, and had only good things to say about us. So grateful for the experience❤️.

Noodles got all of us through university, but two plain packs with full spice packets isn't brain food, it is just high sodium and empty carbs. Upgrade your bowl and fuel your brain!

I saw a "remote" job posting in Nigeria, but only graduates who have finished NYSC are eligible to apply. 👀 Then there’s me: an undergraduate who hasn't even dreamt of NYSC, but has already worked with brands in the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, China, Cyprus... The list goes on! For the same content role oh. If nobody has told you today, let me tell you: social media is gold. Use it as you please. Good evening :)
