The vehicle was loaded in a haphazard manner — the ppl on it were dangerously clinging on to loose boxes. @PoliceMv @MaleCitymv — this is not only unsafe for them but also for other road users.

MP @mohamedkudu, I believe you understand the importance of public accountability and the responsibility that comes with being an elected representative. With that in mind, wld you kindly share your specific position on the current Rasmale deal between the gov and Eagle Hills? Do you support it or oppose it, and why? I think ppl wld genuinely appreciate hearing a clear position from you, beyond general views on development and foreign investment. After all, public accountability also means letting ppl know where their elected representatives stand on important national decisions. 🙏

MP @MickailNaseem, what is your specific position on the current Rasmale deal between the gov and Eagle Hills? I’m not asking for general views on development, foreign investment, or undisclosed agreements. Do you support or oppose this particular deal?

Good luck. 🙏 Please also let the MDP members and public know your position on the Eagle Hills Ras Malé project. For something of this scale and with consequences that may last generations, clarity from anyone seeking public trust matters.

If @faya_i labels the project Zionist, he risks losing the coalition with Anni. I thought Faya was strong and direct, but he’s only vocal on common issues like inflation, BML cards and decentralisation. That’s what I realised. He can’t go against Anni openly. He’s trapped.
I’m more interested in hearing #BoduBadhalu’s position on the Eagle Hills Ras Malé project. @faya_i, this is exactly the kind of issue where clarity matters more than slogans. Where do you stand on the 500 hectares, the long term commercial terms, transparency, public value and the risks being passed to future generations?

The secrecy & the many unknowns aside, I think its important for Fayyaz to make it clear that if elected, he would halt the deal. A deal that requires the laws & regulations to be changed in order to accommodate it? And that each clause will be subject to majlis review again.

I think it is concerning. Mostly because of the extreme secrecy. Difficult to form an opinion when we don’t know much about the agreements. I don’t think it should be given for free. Especially, after we’ve spent so much tax money on reclaiming the land. 500 hectares is absurd.

Every door I knock on, the message is clear: Ras Malé isn't development, it’s a backroom auction of our sovereignty. Bypassing open bids to hand our soil to opaque entities with troubling ties is a betrayal. Based on what ppl are telling me, our land is not for sale in secret.

I have decided to contest for the position of Zuvaanunge Hivvaruge Raees. MDP’s youth deserve a platform that stays active and gives young members a real space to engage consistently. They also deserve a cohesive Youth Wing, one that remains connected no matter where members live across the country. To help make this a reality, I humbly ask for your support and respectfully seek your vote as we move forward. #VoteAik

The worst part is some outlets won’t even allow card payments unless the bill is above MVR 10. So someone cannot simply buy a MVR 5 bottle of water, probably one of the most basic and essential things you may need at a hospital, unless they add something else. It sounds small, but this is exactly how dysfunction shows itself. A hospital environment shld make basic needs easier, not create petty obstacles around them. This place often feels like a hugely disorganized cluster of systems that simply do not talk to each other. @igmhmv @22halex @bankofmaldives

With a project as large and long term as Eagle Hills at Ras Malé, caution is not paranoia. It is basic due diligence. If there are concerns about Zionist-linked funds, regional political money, or exposure to global money laundering networks (the likelihood of which is high citing below article), then the answer is not speculation. The answer is full transparency. - Who ultimately provides the capital? - Who holds the equity? - Who are the beneficial owners? - Through which jurisdictions and entities does the money flow? - What AML checks hv been done? Billions entering a generational public asset cannot be treated as beyond scrutiny. - Show us the ownership. - Show us the funding structure. - Show us the safeguards. Follow the money before committing the country.
Jared Kushner allegedly had access to secret foreign bank accounts involving nearly $2 billion while serving as a senior White House adviser during Trump’s first term, according to Vanity Fair. The report alleges $750 million in Saudi and Emirati funds was routed into a UAE account, while another $1 billion was deposited into an Israeli account reportedly subject to Benjamin Netanyahu’s oversight. The alleged arrangements were tied to Kushner’s diplomatic dealings in the Middle East. Kushner denies the accounts existed. Follow: @AFpost

Why is the deputy speaker earning a higher pay? Also hard disagree. Majlis members don’t deserve shit.
President’s Salary: Mvr 100,000 Chief Justice Salary: Mvr 91,000 Majilis Deputy Speaker: Mvr 91,000 Majilis Speaker Salary: 73,000 It’s only fair the speaker of Majilis is paid a salary that is on par with the heads of other branches of government. Especially since the deputy speaker earns more in the current pay framework.

Why is @ForeignSecMV account not verified with the government “grey” tick?
Maldives and Oman held their first round of Political Consultations today in Muscat, led by @ForeignSecMV Fathimath Inaya and Omani Undersecretary Shaikh Khalifa Al-Harthi. Discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
