Broda Shaggi spent 4 months in a Nigerian hospital after being hit by a stray bullet, but couldn’t get the replacement surgery he needed. He travelled to Dubai and got it done in less than a week. Nigerian healthcare has a LONG way to go. 💔

I really need to get used to making decisions without overthinking the possible outcomes. worst case scenario, I get a negative response, best case scenario, it changes my life.

After my engagements in Manchester, I honoured another impromptu engagement in Birmingham, UK, with a group of Nigerians having their annual general meeting. Our discussions centered on achieving our collective purpose of building a New Nigeria that works for all, which is centered on tackling corruption and electing competent leaders with capacity, character, compassion and commitment, to unite, secure, and move the nation from consumption to production. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Building Brimble is the hardest thing i've done in my life and to be honest I am kind of suprised to see it's still standing, it's so crazy because we don't support local builders enough and if it's in S.F it's the other way round 1) You get constantly compared to vercel/railway and it's sad because if you want to get people in this space to use it to you need to ship features to the quality they have already set (either same quality or you go higher) 2) After shipping almost the same quality, local users here still force you to make decisions by cutting cost of your product, just because you want them to use it and at the end of the day, you still get compared and you even have no choice. 3) I and abraham have been constantly bootstrapping the product for the last 4 years, so we only scale on demand. We don't have the luxury to throw money into compute unncessarily. 4) There were different iterations of the product just to get PMF, the directions changed about 2-3 times between the years. 5) oh fine, "enterprise" has the money. But at the same time, you need a good amount of money to get the licenses to support enterprise and at the same time, some enterprise will look down on you especially when it's just 2 engineers managing the product, ever since we got the idea in 2022. You do performance and security audits yourself, you need to be extremely stable (just with a team of 2 and after all that, you still get compared. It's very much fine, but nobody gives a damn) 6) Brimble literally has everything (databases, sandboxes, fullstack deployments, autoscaling, static outbound ips e.t.c). Strived to succeed 7) You are also trying to pitch to investors, in a case where some of them don't have a clue or the nuances involved in what you are building. The best everyone has to do is support local products, supporting local products even gives you as a user a ton of advantage. You control the type of features you want, the prices is very affordable for you, you'd get the maximum support you need without having to send emails or wait for 3 business days to get feedbacks. A few angels really believes in the vision and fingers crossed, really love it. But at the end of the day, it still seems you aren't good enough for people to use you. I'm extremely grateful for people that took all of these out of their mind to actually support us in terms of using the product end to end. Sharing reasonable feedbacks and also sticking around even when it had issues. If i have the opportunity to do this again, i would peacefully decline.

Whenever my inner voice tries to discourage me from building something because someone else has already done it, I remind myself that there are over 200 fintech companies in Nigeria, and they all have their own customers. Stop procrastinating. Build and launch that idea.

Okay, I’ve seen some misunderstandings about Bachs’ compliance. I work on the compliance engine and related controls. We make verification easier with clear requirements, guided tasks and visible progress, backed by identity checks and payment access controls.

Ownership is not a feeling. It's a decision. Most people treat their standards as a response to their environment performing when conditions are good, pulling back when they're not. I've built my entire career on the opposite principle.

Really love how we’re building such a supportive startup ecosystem here. It’s interesting to see how our products and companies are becoming interconnected in ways we don’t always notice at first. @brimblehq has been one of SendByte’s users for a while now and continues to account for a significant share of our traffic. So hearing that part of @bachs_hq infrastructure also runs on Brimble was genuinely satisfying. And now, we’re currently working on setting up one of our own products with Bachs. That full-circle effect is what I love about this ecosystem, African startups building for, supporting, and powering other African startups. More of this. 🚀
When we first started moving some of our infra to @brimblehq, we weren’t honestly weren’t sure how it would go Reliability and uptime are everything at Bachs. Other people’s businesses rely on us to run, so we couldn’t afford to get it wrong But we really wanted to work with product builders from Africa, so we took the leap a few weeks in, and my only regret is that we didn’t start earlier with Brimble really impressive to see what @pipe_dev and the team have built. It’s solid, reliable, affordable and has given us one less thing to worry about as we keep scaling Bachs This is the kind of product we want to see more of coming out of Africa fr

According to PiggyVest, 56% of Nigerians have thought about leaving the country in the past year, up from 36% in 2017. Nigerians want to leave in record numbers, but many can’t even afford to save enough to do it. Since we are stuck here, let’s take the elections in January serious ooo, I don’t have to keep begging you to not vote based on bias, tribe and religion. Look at your pocket, ask yourself, did you get richer or poorer under Tinubu? Are you feeding well under him? Are you saving ? Can you afford to go out ??? Ask yourself serious questions.
