I didn't realize it when I shared this but the person he's screaming at is a 22-year old female college student who is going to journalism school and good for her for giving it right back to his stupid old ass.

What was more improbable @BTLSportsCo : Dodgers swept or #knicksinfive?
I wouldnt have thought something could shock me like the knicks win over spurs, but... last night... O_O
It's a proud moment when I learn more from my son about baseball than I could teach him.
Division Series chaos. Yankees collapsed, Padres heartbreak, Dodgers inevitable, Cleveland made October flinch. Full breakdown below

Many things are killing the industry. A lack of ports killing VR is rewriting history.
Since its inception we’ve had a ton of ports (RE, Fallout, Farpoint, Minecraft).
Don’t blame developers blame the platforms for being awful stewards.
I helped launch commercial VR at oculus. i left having worked on orion. phoenix/breckenridge/vr glasses have been demoed. what did they get right? what else should be a p0 priority?
not a hot take - it’s as cold as logic and experience can be. with a little behind the scenes.

@benz145 you inspired me to finish this note I started months ago.

A lot of chatter about my team's demo for @oculus Rift: First Contact. Talked about this @ViewConference. A slide dump:
The brain processes things in arms reach differently than everything else. Small intimate experiences could have the impact in VR, like CoD has on console.
First Contact was incredible because, like Toybox before it, it focused on satisfying precise two-handed interactions in the near-field that are simply not possible on flatscreen platforms.
Far too much of VR gaming over the past decade has instead tried to just tack VR onto far-field locomotion-focused flatscreen game design. That can be a lot of fun in its own right, but fundamentally misses the "magic" unique to XR.
My example of outlier behavior: in an uber from FB HQ to SFO, the woman driving us slowly revealed she was using VR... during sex. With her partner. Also using VR. To embody different POVs that differed from their physical identities while doing something visceral and emotional.
yeah that’s right that’s us
The strongest “I’m living in the future” moment was the First Contact demo on the Oculus CV1 in ~2016 and I’ve been chasing it ever since.
Yeah yeah we’ve got AI and self driving cars and stuff now, but it doesn’t hit the same.
Shame that the space kind of fizzled out…but here’s to hoping there’s a resurgence soon.
There’s got to be other technologies that had an extreme “wow future” moment that never panned out. What would your “oculus” moment be in the 90s, 80s, 70s?
kids, man
this and murakami interviews have made me a chisox fan - sorry @dougglanville (I was rooting for the cubbies but gotta lock in now)
I love reading an analysis by someone who loves baseball and comics. "But asking that group to suddenly carry the offense against the Yankees was basically like sending the Thunderbolts in to single-handedly beat Doctor Doom."
The White Sox are in the ALDS. The Cubs scored one run. The Astros went 81-81 and got swept. Philly’s championship window is getting smaller. And Boston got swept by the Yankees while scoring two runs.
The Wild Card round had everything.
We broke down all four series, the biggest collapses, the biggest surprises, and what comes next for every team.
Our full Wild Card Thoughts are LIVE.
