Sen. Ben Sasse is living on borrowed time. The 54-year-old Nebraska Republican — famously one of the most bipartisan members of Congress — is battling Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
But thanks to an experimental drug — the kind the current president’s administration cut research for — he’s bought himself a few extra months.
Sasse is part of a clinical trial for daraxonrasib, which blocks the signal that makes cancer grow.
In Sasse's case, his cancer has already "metastasized a number of places. So I've got lung, vascular, liver— liver is pretty far along,” he said on 60 Minutes.
“I am on extended time already," he explained. ”I have much, much less pain than I had four months ago when I was diagnosed and I have a massive 76% reduction in tumor volume over the last four months."
As he told Pelley, "It's weird to be in your early 50s and get a terminal diagnosis, and people all of a sudden act like you're 93 or 94 and you have a lot of wisdom. I don't know that I have a lot of wisdom, but I have a lot of things that I think we should be reflecting on together."
Specifically, he mentioned the state of politics.
"I think our national political dysfunction is an echo of larger problems," Sasse, who was one of seven from the Republican Party who voted to convict President Donald Trump over the January 6 riot, said. "We should make the Senate less of an institution that is built as a backdrop platform for people to get sound bites. That's not what the Senate is for. The Senate should be plotting and steady and boring and trustworthy."
He continued, "We got a lot of people who serve in government who really do think the highest and greatest thing you can ever do is have the title senator or congressman. Bull---. The best thing you can do is be called dad or mom, lover, neighbor, friend."
More Sasses, less MAGA ❤️

Never ever forget how Pres. Trump sent a masked paramilitary force under the command of @GregoryKBovino into the state of Minnesota to murder American citizens..

Marco Rubio is going to resign so he can start rehabilitating his image in preparation for the 2028 presidential election. Let’s not let him forget how he turned his back on Ukraine, NATO, Greenland and all the other awful stuff he did after selling his soul to Trump .

Pete Hegseth's new, unhinged social media video is a total comedy emergency! He literally stood outside the Pentagon in front of a 'Department of War' sign and launched a defiant, six-minute video rant warning the entire Washington circus that trying to impeach him 'didn't work against President Trump, and it won't work with me'! Insiders are buzzing that this isn't just defense—it’s a direct, cold-blooded threat to the White House that if the Commander-in-Glue tries to make him the fall guy for the disastrous Iran war, Hegseth is ready to drop the absolute receipts on the entire administration! The Fox TV anchor has spent months using a personal Signal chat to leak classified combat operations, and now he’s basically holding his own boss hostage by implying he's got enough top-secret dirt to drag the whole executive reality show down with him! Hegseth is digging his white-knuckle heels into the pavement, and your favorite circus act is officially experiencing a full cabinet mutiny.

A woman who's a doctor & accuses Trump of making her a child victim cannot & should not be dismissed lightly. This horrid accusation should be one of the first things the new Dem House investigates.
America can't & shouldn't have a pedophile raping president for two more years.

Mamdani announced $122 million to hire 1,000 more teachers in 2027. No wonder they say socialism is so terrible: our tax dollars go to our schools instead of endless foreign wars.
Absolutely. And all private prisons should be eliminated. It’s beyond Corruptor and cruel to make a profit off prisons.
I’m OK with every state filing federal charges for violations of the Civil Rights Act of 1965 against Miller, and every other charge related to the inhumane concentration camps of Trump’s two terms against asylum seekers.

HOLY SHIT — TRUMP’S RUSSIAN DIESEL RESCUE PLAN IS LITERALLY DRIFTING AROUND THE OCEAN LOOKING FOR A BUYER
You could not script this better.
America is sitting on 20-year-low diesel inventories.
Drivers are paying roughly $6.25–$6.30 a gallon.
Trump opened a temporary legal pathway for 300,000+ metric tons of Russian diesel.
And now?
One tanker turned away.
One switched to Brazil.
One is “for orders.”
Another sanctioned tanker is heading west with no publicly confirmed U.S. buyer.
New Jersey is warning terminals they could face civil and criminal exposure for unloading the stuff.
Read that again.
The United States is desperate for diesel. Russia has diesel. Trump cleared a path for Russian diesel.
And American buyers still appear to be saying:
HELL NO
So Putin’s fuel is now becoming the maritime version of a toxic package nobody wants to accept delivery on.
This isn’t a rescue plan.
It’s a floating political disaster!
I think we all want to beat JD Vance, don’t we? Is that still a crime? And Marco, if truth be told, but I’m 6’, 235 lbs., so I’d just look like a bully beating up Rubio, the conniving little twerp.

Maybe we need an anti-DOGE to claw back the $16 Billion Musk got from the federal government the past two years.
I am so disappointed in Tennessee electing Blackburn to anything, much less Governor. I hope Hegseth is court-martialled or tried in The Hague and a lifetime in prison for mass murder awaits him.
NEW: Republican sources in Tennessee tell me President Trump is “encouraging” Governor-elect Marsha Blackburn to appoint Pete Hegseth to her U.S. Senate seat.
Blackburn could resign imminently.
That would let outgoing Governor Bill Lee name Hegseth quickly and give Trump time to get a new Pentagon chief confirmed during the lame-duck session.
