The mighty mitochondria strike again!💪⚡️So excited to share our latest paper on exercise and mitochondrial adaptations. Endless gratitude to our fantastic collaborators and funders for their support!
In our latest study led by @tcppham, we found that the mitochondrial (mt) protein SLIRP is a PGC-1α target that regulates mt structure, respiration, and mt-mRNA in muscle. And exercise restored these functions, even with SLIRP disruption and low mt-mRNA! nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
Excited to share our latest work on the dynamic relationship between mitochondria and exercise! 🏋♀️ Dive into the details and share your thoughts in the thread below.🙏
Just submitted our manuscript🤞 We uncover the exercise-responsive mitochondrial-mRNA-stabilizing protein SLIRP, as a PGC-1α target that regulates mitochondrial structure, respiration, and mitochondrially-encoded-mRNA pools in skeletal muscle. Preprint: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

A new page in obesity research: Thrilled to share our latest publication uncovering a new regulator! Thank you to everyone who's been part of this journey.🙏 @NEXSKU @BiomedUCPH
In this study, driven by @tcppham🔥we integrated diet-induced obesity Drosophila and mouse models, metabolomics studies, and a multitude of metabolic screening approaches and identify TNIK as a conserved regulator of glucose and lipid metabolism in obesity science.org/doi/10.1126/scia…

What an honor it was to be able to present our work at musclewasting.ch on Tuesday and #Europhysiology2022 today! An increase by 200% in dissemination activities, yes! Thank you @LykkeSylow for pushing me out of my comfort zone.
We are cheering for you @EmmaFrank96 - today, tomorrow, and now all along your journey as a PhD student! Huge congratulations, it's been a pleasure being your co-supervisor and I could not be prouder☀️
Today I defended my Master’s thesis, and it was a pleasure. Now it’s time for a new journey as I will continue in this amazing team, now as a PhD student. Thank you MMCA, and special thanks to @LykkeSylow for being an amazing PI and my daily inspiration☀️
