People ask me how I reached an eight-figure net worth after only 5 years in tech: Year 1 - $65K (1st job) Year 2 - $72K (asked for raise) Year 3 - $137K (switched jobs) Year 4 - $35.67M (lawsuit payout from Google commuter bus hitting me) Year 5 - $146K (promotion)

Once again I will repeat: The value of tailwind is not inherently the inline utility classes (though, I am a huge fan), it's the underlying design system and API to access that design system in a common sense and predictable way. It makes doing the right thing easy.

Dev Tools can give you an overview of your CSS usage. Pretty handy feature!

i started learning to code properly because i was pissed off. y'all know i used to run a restaurant, right? In a good month, my restaurant used to do about $12k in delivery revenue alone (after the platforms' 35%+ cut). This means ~$6k/m went to the platforms.

Your job when: - writing - teaching - building user interfaces is to make the people using your creation feel smart, not to make yourself feel intelligent.
Am I the only one who has no patience for people aggressively asserting their intelligence? Some of the smartest people I’ve met didn’t feel the need to berate me with how smart they are. Stop trying to make people feel unintelligent by flaunting your knowledge.

@switchcasebreak inspiring talk #ForwardJS! I'm also trying to turn a bad situation into a developer career. I feel that empathy and community are the engine that drives positive change. Developers have to work in teams so may as well foster those vibes before they are devs.✌️

Believe it or not, you can be using the best design system or framework and still produce the worst product

"OK Boomer" only works on Boomers from Google. If your Boomer is from Apple, you have to say "Hey, Boomer." If it's from Amazon, you can simply preface your instruction with "Boomer", e.g. "Boomer, stop."
