This is a powerful and heartbreaking story of which I suspect many residents are unaware. Yousef and I are candidates for @EalingCommIndys for #GreenfordBroadway in the local elections. Please vote for us on May 7th.

Incredibly proud of @CanLager for yet another month of hard graft, helping to keep our borough clean.

Alan Bates turned down an OBE as Paula Vennells, the woman in charge of the Post Office through the Horizon Scandal, retains her CBE and refuses to give it back. A man of honour 🙏🏼❤️ #MrBatesVsThePostOffice #PostOfficeScandal Alan, 69: “The first thing that sprang to my mind while reading the letter (offering me an OBE) was Paula Vennells still had a CBE. I felt so deeply insulted. She presided over a policy of harassing hundreds of innocent people. It’s not just that the Government hasn’t asked her to return it. What’s even worse is that despite knowing the strength of feeling about it, how people have suffered and some cases died on her watch – she doesn’t feel inclined to give it back.” Alan accepted a @PrideOfBritain award in 2023. We were over the moon to give that to him. Not all heros wear capes 💜 @DailyMirror mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/po…

V sad news. A true gentleman and legend of Acton politics, though had been a Northfields Labour member for the last few years. Glen was unfortunate not to be elected to Parliament in the Oct ‘74 election losing by only a few hundred votes.
Sad to report the passing of Glen Barnham aged 79 years. He was an Honorary Freeman, former #Acton Councillor on #Ealing Council, and active trade unionist. He was a very good friend and looked forward to supporting my Mayoralty this year. He will be missed by many. #RIP 🙏🏽

It was excruciating when my elderly dog had an accident in @pret at dog-friendly #MotoServices #Rugby this morning, & I did my best to clean it up. Huge 🙏 to the kind staff member who rushed discreetly to my aid & did the job properly without drawing undue attention.

The excellent @Kaulofthewilduk is on this case , it’s close to his heart and a valuable part of his and many others community . The site is home to a spectacular array of bird species, like Red Kites, Barn and Short-eared Owls, Starlings, Wheatears, Linnets, Mistle Thrushes . RT
🚨BREAKING NEWS; Ealing Council’s plans for #WarrenFarmNR mean significant loss of Public Open Space & a threat to Ealing’s only Skylarks🚨We’re sadly at risk of becoming the biggest ‘de-wilding’ project in West London😔BLOG👉🏼 tinyurl.com/WFNRdewilding #SaveEalingSkylarks Thank you

#litterpickingsansfrontieres This afternoon we crossed the border into @LBofHounslow & removed loads of litter & 3 flytips from the footpath from Lionel Rd N to Clayponds. Lots of thanks from passers by & 1 who asked if we were doing community service. Path may have drug problem.

Yep, same here, I have driven once in the last two months. I wish the council would give people credit for having a brain, people don’t drive unless necessary on the whole. The days of going out for a leisurely drive are over.

Driving 89yo mum and 81yo neighbour across London for their vaccinations this afternoon. Cannot imagine trying that on public transport (let alone bike) Haven’t driven since massive drop to @EalingFoodbank. Who does it for fun?

I haven’t driven for two days because I didn’t need to.. 15,000 steps yesterday and 12,000 today. I need to drive tomorrow so I will.

It’s such a shame that the ill-thought out LTNs in Ealing, which are making so many lives a misery, are giving LTNs in general a bad name.

You’re back! I was always impressed by people being able to do this.
The lost art of parking your bike on the kerb.
