More on Clr Hadwin's revelations about the SEND system. Plenty of support staff, SalTs, OTs, ASD specialists and reasonable adjustments all available without the need for an EHCP. "social media" is to blame. youtube.com/live/LmThxLn34hc…

This woman at Bristol City Council was complicit in allowing my teen to fail GCSEs despite me repeatedly raising concerns. She allowed the school to get away with murder. She blocks access to education. And yeah, I don't usually name people but today I am sick of her failure

Does Section 19 education remove the LA's duty to provide Section F support?
No! Even when your child receives education out of school, the LA must still secure the provision in Section F of their EHCP.
Both legal duties apply.

Reform Councillors in Suffolk:
'Oh you sent me an email and now I have to do some work? yeah sorry I'm resigning this afternoon.'
'I'm the cabinet member for SEND, but don't contact me about SEND related issues'

Maybe if Cllr Gould did something about the mess of our send services and believed parents who tell him things aren't working, we wouldn't need to cc him in the emails that evidence we've being ignored for weeks....

Staff should refrain from communicating with her or offer her any warmth or empathy until she stops banging her head.”
That was a care plan at TEWV’s West Lane.
A child was left to harm herself and told it was “her choice.”
This was punishment dressed up as care. #TEWV
Never thought I would see the day when @SpcialNdsJungle would call for the abolition of EHCPs. With friends like these...
NEW POST: SNJ Co-Director, Dr Sharon Smith writes a thoughtful article about how to make mainstream SEND support plans both statutory AND truly inclusive specialneedsjungle.com/beyon…
Still at it. xitter.cf/stevenmwright/status/2…
In direct opposition to your own point 3. "I would like to see a slight shift away just from that individualised plan [EHCPs]". The thinking (and i use that term loosely) , is that it didn't work for her daughter.

I’ve also just remembered I’ve got email for someone from management at LA in #SEND I’ll give the MP a chance to go via them as it’ll be more productive I feel 🤔
So things done to hasten a placement #SEND

Parents across Suffolk have told me about the struggles they've faced trying to secure support for their children. So I submitted a Freedom of Information request to Suffolk County Council.
The findings are deeply concerning.
In 2025/26:
❌ Just 1 in 5 EHCPs completed on time.
❌ Average waits of almost 38 weeks.
❌ 500 SEND Tribunal appeals, more than double the number two years earlier.
While some progress has been made, too many families are still being let down.
I'll be demanding answers from Suffolk County Council and a clear plan to ensure children receive the support they need, when they need it.
Children's futures cannot be put on hold.

Who knew? Think tank @instituteforgov says Labour’s SEND proposals risk "unravelling" as parents rush to secure EHCPs before any changes. An IoG report says the plans may be too optimistic & too fast, risking basing plans on undeliverable assumptions theguardian.com/education/20…

The error was in creating the rule, not sending the letter - why do schools find it so hard to admit they got it wrong?

GBBOP1: "Oh loads - it's a GAY throuple!!"
*finger-snaps/craft beer opening*
GBBOP3: "But how can we drag a mention of the throuple into the show, though, in a way that's not contrived? Hmm..."
*much head-scratching/staring into space*
GBBOP4: "I know! Let's have a task where contestants have to bake something with a member of their family! Then we can get him to bring in one of the partners! And any talk about the throuple can seem unforced!"
*finger-snaps/twerking on tables/gluten-free pizzas ordered*
GBBOP5: "This is going to be the best Bake Off ever! By the way - can this throuple guy bake?"
GBBOP1: "Oh, pffft, who cares? None of 'em can! But nobody wants to watch old Karens baking cakes."
*nodding/vaping/Blåhag stroking*
GBBOP2: "Well, here's hoping that Paul and Nigella won't absolutely hate each other's guts in a way that's obvious to viewers. Anyway, let's get back to it. Tomorrow, we march!"
