In an age where information travels in seconds, one unverified post can reach thousands before the truth catches up. We all need to slow down and verify before we amplify.

National Cleaning Days! A good initiative if it can be sustained. Just know ye all, cleanliness starts at a personal level. Have you cleaned yourself; your house; your personal space? Don't go cleaning community roads, drainages when your house looks like #Kiteezi #StartWithYou

…and all schools need a 30 minute of do nothing time. We need children to get used to boredom. It is in that space where creativity thrives.

I’ll forever be thankful for Namagunga where there was no morning prep, no holiday work, no beginning or mid term exams AND yet we still did well. Bonus, it taught me self reliance. I really work well under minimal supervision
Visited my former school yesterday evening. Had the privilege to accompany the teacher on duty today morning to wake them up for morning preps. Watoto wasome. Hakuna kulala beyond 5am.

Such a pleasure sharing my story. Hoping it’s able to encourage a young lady out there interested in pursuing a PhD. 🙏
Despite navigating the demands of pregnancy and the early months of motherhood, Dr. @irenemutuzo accomplished the remarkable feat of completing her PhD in less than three years. Her story is a powerful source of inspiration for anyone considering, or currently pursuing, a doctoral journey. Read on: shorturl.at/8856L

Ebola is deadly but stopping it from spreading is much easier than with COVID. Do not panic! 1. Ebola is only passed on by contact with body fluids of an infected person- sweat, vomit, blood etc. Not just being in close contact. 2. Ebola is only transmissible when someone has developed symptoms. If someone is infected but has no symptoms they cannot pass it to you. Therefore all we have to do is be vigilant and avoid anyone who has a fever and other Ebola like symptoms - vomiting, bleeding, diarrhea, headache or other malaria like symptoms. However as a precaution simply avoid all body contact with other people like shaking hands, hugging and keeping your distance in crowded places, public transport or large gatherings.

#Uganda #Ebola 1- 2 Infections 2- Both Congolese. 3- One died and repatriated. The other is in hospital being treated. 4- Health workers, relatives etc who interacted with them have been tracked by our experienced experts and isolated for treatment. 5- There’s ZERO local infection. 6- We know Ebola. Life goes on with added vigilance.

We’ve just published the 10th edition of The Legacy, a small but meaningful milestone at the @MakEndowmentFnd. In an age of shrinking attention spans, newsletters remain one of the most powerful tools for intentional storytelling. They allow us to go beyond headlines; to capture journeys, context, and impact in a way that quick posts often cannot. This edition continues that purpose: telling the stories of our alumni and students with depth, authenticity, and pride, while also connecting our community to opportunities such as #Scholarships and #Grants. Enjoy your read!
Our latest issue of The Legacy is out! This Women’s Month edition celebrates remarkable women breaking barriers; from completing PhDs in record time, to advancing HIV prevention, and creating innovative solutions like sanitary pad dispensers. You’ll also find inspiring real-life journeys of resilience and reinvention, plus raw personal stories written by our alumni and students themselves. PS: Don't miss out on the scholarship and grant opportunities too. Dive in and get inspired! Download here: endowment.mak.ac.ug/app/lega…

To all education practitioners at the secondary school, and our folks at @NCDCUg and @Educ_SportsUg The Competence Based Curriculum doesn't mean contexts only, content and knowledge are equally important. Short of that, we're a crisis in the waiting

Pain in the calf muscle (the muscle on the back of the lower leg) can sometimes be caused by a clot. If you ever get shortness of breath after getting calf pain it could be a clot that has moved to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) which often kills. Never take calf pain lightly especially if you are sedentary, travel a lot or are immobile due to injury or sickness. Clots can be treated and death prevented if you seek care in a timely manner. But, it starts with being able to identify a potential problem. Share this to save more lives

Dear @Airtel_Ug I sent you a DM regarding an international mobile money transfer query on Saturday 29 November 2025 but I have received no feedback. Please let me know how else to contact you, seeing the customer care numbers are also not helpful. Thank you.

Makerere University’s Department of Journalism and Communication held its 25th Annual Media Convention. The convention highlighted the urgent need for AI literacy, data-driven reporting, fact-checking, and professionalism as Uganda heads toward the 2026 general elections. The keynote speaker, @rakidi, reminded journalists that “Fact-checking and Information verification should be at the centre of our newsroom process during this delicate election season.” cmisafrica.org/2025/10/09/ma…
