Big wins, like getting your work in Times Square, deserve more than just a nod. In business and in life, celebrating victories—especially with your family—keeps the fire burning. Don’t let the weight of the work dull the celebration of the result.
It's 7:35 AM in Times Square, and I am crying seeing our ad on a billboard. This is by far one of the biggest moments in my life and for Goodo Studios. Thank you to @shesbirdie for trusting us with this project. Thanks to @brexHQ for sponsoring this billboard. Shoutout to my team, @GoodoStudios. WE did this. Okay back to work now.

I was just chatting with my brother about some of the investing tweets out this morning. His response: “If I wasn’t in that industry at one point it would just sound like…. “Bitcoin etherium, coinbox, coinpurse, digitalcloneclown, twistolime, walletbox, dogeball.” 😂😂😂

Great point here by Nolan. What prevents me from purchasing on Twitter and Instagram 95% of the time is the friction of entering my credit card, entering the security code, updating the shipping address, entering a different billing address, etc. Most of the time the automagic tools for making this easier, don't work.
Big part of selling: Remove friction. Make it as easy as possible for a customer to buy. Ex: we have a mowing customer. We text them: “we noticed these dead plants - you want us to cut them back at the normal hourly rate? Just send back a thumbs up and we will do it.” The “thumbs up” line is the key. You want the space between “hmmm…yeah…that’s a good idea…” to “buy” to be as small as possible.

Great post. To add to it, here are 10 “nobody told me” life lessons I’ve documented along the way. “You won’t believe number 8.” Nobody told me that… 1. The men I used to watch play football and baseball would turn into boys. 2. I would never feel much older than 25 even as my body aged beyond. 3. Teaching someone willing to learn is 100x more rewarding than just about anything else in life. 4. I wouldn’t recognize, until later in life, those who had strong character versus those who didn’t. And that it mattered more than anything. 5. The notion of “finding your purpose” or having one at all, might be the biggest waste of time and burden ever put on any human being. 6. Old people know just about everything but have the patience to just listen because they know you have to make your own mistakes to learn most things. 7. People will let you down but that’s an expectation problem on your part. 8. Being part of “something bigger” isn’t for everybody. 9. A great live guitar solo can change your life, more than once. 10. Being yourself is the only way it CAN work.
I’ve interviewed and managed over 2,500 people. So I’ve seen how a lot of people tick. Here are 59 contrarian observations about humans. A... 🧵 :

The best advice on how to be successful I’ve heard: On Nick Saban’s radio show, a young athlete asked him a bold question. What advice would the Alabama football coach give him – a basketball player – to improve in his sport? Saban’s response is gold: “I think for any athlete, it's the same thing. What's your goal? What's your aspiration? What do you want to accomplish? That's the first thing. “Second thing is to define what it takes to do it. What does it entail for you to be the kind of basketball player that you want to be? “Then you got to make the decision. Are you willing to do that? Are you willing to go work every day and do the things you need to do and take 500 shots a day like Kobe Bryant did so that you can be the kind of player that you want to be? “And then do you have enough discipline to make yourself do it every day? Whether you feel like it or not. “You got to choose to get up. You got to choose to study. You got to choose to go make the shots. You got to choose to work out. People that can do that, they can reach their full potential. “If you choose to make that kind of commitment to it, you can do the same thing, but it's not going to just come to you. It's not going to come easy. “And you're going to have to overcome a lot of adversity to be able to persevere and sustain it to get where you want to go.” – It’s a beautiful response for sports, business and life. Replace the young basketball player with yourself – investor, business owner, manager, teacher, whatever – and the same framework applies. Some key takeaways: 1. Everything begins with a vision. What do you want to achieve? 2. Vision alone isn’t enough. You need a detailed plan of how to achieve it. 3. Commitment separates those who dream from those who do. Most people aren’t willing to do what it takes. 4. Daily execution is the hardest (and most valuable) part. 5. Feelings are irrelevant. You can do what needs to be done despite how you feel. 6. One day of effort is overrated. Daily effort is underrated. 7. Improvement is a lifelong process. Embrace it, cherish it, commit to it. ||| Hope this is helpful. I helped care for two parents who went through the hell that is dementia. If you don’t make changes to help yourself, make them for your loved ones who’ll have front row seats.
Atrocities of Aging: Look what aging does to the best of us. I grew up watching Die Hard and Pulp fiction, and look what aging did to the toughest of all - only difference is a mere 10,000 days. At 70 our risk of dimentia is 150x higher than when we are 40, from 1 out of 1000, to 15 out 100. Imagine if a virus increased our chances of developing dimentia by 150x - we would all be terrified and joining our efforts to eradicate the virus. Well, it’s the same virus, don’t be fooled because it only takes more days. We can slow down age related damage, just need more resources. Need you! Join the movement to radically slow down aging. #Unite_against_aging #vitalism

Excellent recap on SBA and lending requirements for using debt to purchase a business.
WSS: Bruce, I want to submit an LOI for $4,000,000 and would like you to help structure the transaction! How much equity must I personally inject? How much total equity do I need to bring to the table? Can the Seller Note act as equity? How much collateral do I need? Let's see

Hear! Hear! I've witnessed plenty of this and it's worse than you think. It's a challenging problem but solvable.
Google "nursing home" and you’ll see images of smiling old people in wheelchairs. That is not how it really is. Someone wants us to be oblivious to the suffering caused by aging, just like a pork restaurant has a picture of a smiling pig on the menu – trust me the pig was not smiling. Aging robs us of everything – our ability to do things we love, our cognitive abilities, even our ability to walk and wipe our ass. Join me to raise awareness of the atrocities associated with aging so that together we can influence more resources being directed at radically delaying aging #Unite_against_aging #vitalism

According to the CBO, interest payments on the national debt are expected to total $745 billion in 2024. Why should you care? The United States is spending more than $1 trillion per year on interest payments for the national debt. Wild.

Excellent post on creating core values that mean something, and work.
Many companies have wonderful Core Values on the wall: - “Be Nice” - “Be Bold” - “Own It” But are packed with bad bosses and toxic culture. Why? The answer is Core Values suck. There’s a better way… 🧵
