What does a ShotSpotter sensor look like? It is not cameras, though those often accompany. They're microphones. They might be parabolic dishes but those often are point-to-point comms. Most devices are small and flat.
ShotSpotter partnered with Israeli Airobtics to deploy drones.

Not only is Detroit bound by contract to not release the location of ShotSpotter sensors, the company is not required to provide locations to police and "will challenge any subpoenas for this location any data."

A lot has been said about Shotspotter being used to surveil Black and Latinx communities but here in Minneapolis it’s also used to surveil indigenous communities. Look at this map; there are at least two mics in Little Earth. (h/t @joeyneverjoe)
