The pleasure when patients get better! Thanks to our patients and @TempleLung
A patient who was recently diagnosed with Sarcoidosis was referred to the Temple Lung Center, where Dr. @rtg03 was able to eliminate medication completely. @6abc @TempleHealth 6abc.cm/2AOegsh

Steroids or no steroids! We all have seen both sides but need solid evidence which might not be the case soon. Need to treat patients in the interim....
possible role for low-dose steroid in COVID? Perhaps timed with the early inflammatory phase (e.g. ~5-10d after illness onset, when hypoxemia is worsening). Available evidence from SARS & COVID-19 suggests possible benefit - but *not* definitive. (blog: emcrit.org/pulmcrit/steroid-…)
Many people need to be held responsible for this poor display but WHO needs to be funded and active!
Halting funding for the World Health Organization during a world health crisis is as dangerous as it sounds. Their work is slowing the spread of COVID-19 and if that work is stopped no other organization can replace them. The world needs @WHO now more than ever.
Some optimistic news!
A cohort of patients with severe Covid-19 received treatment with remdesivir under a compassionate-use protocol. Improvement in oxygen-support status was observed in 68% of patients, and overall mortality was 13% over a median follow-up of 26 days. #COVID19

Massive fail!
A sad & historic day for global #COVID19 #epidemiology with cases in #UnitedStates now surpassing all other countries, including original epicenter of #China. Is this a massive #PublicHealth fail or was it inevitable? @CarlosdelRio7 @JoHofmann2 @edyong209 @sciencecohen
Some suggestions and a lot of questions
Early protection, early identification, early diagnosis and early isolation are crucial to combat #COVID19 outbreaks doi.org/10.1183/13993003.005…

The @PAHealthDept shared this graph to breakdown the percentage of those infected with COVID-19 by age across the state. Young people NEED to stay at home! #stayhomestaysafe #covidphl
