A few impressions from my first chaos communication congress, aka #37c3. How to free the Russian internet (runet), how to cancel lost credit cards for real, how to build functional submarines, bitcoin candy machines, or chaotic noise generators... But the best: the teahouse🙏

Theme: Playground. Our dinosaur shaped triple-pendulum swing, designed using #trusscillator, was just a perfect match for this year's #48snk festival in Berlin. Many thanks to @ramboldio & Lukas Fritsche for the help!

Engineering this #haptics device for #CHI2023 was so much fun... Romain's design is full of brilliant moments that might pass unseen, my favorite is that we used the battery as the weight itself! (Wearables should be as light as possible).See it in action: youtube.com/watch?v=57izT0UZ…

Our device takes advantage of perceptual illusions: it is not strong enough to physically jump higher but enough that the user can feel it. The effect works by moving a 2kg weight along the user's back when jumping (we use the battery as the weight!) 3/10

Just finished filming an entire 8 week series on Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems!! This is one of my favorite topics in all of math. And this finishes up all the videos for a two-quarter, 60 hour set of lectures on Engineering Mathematics! youtube.com/watch?v=9fQkLQZe…

Almost outdated... three weeks ago I got lucky to successfully defend my #phd thesis on Human-Scale Personal Fabrication advised by Patrick Baudisch at the Hasso Plattner Institute:)

This is a topic that means a lot to me, @YonVisell and our speakers, as we explore interfaces that allow users to feel haptic feedback while keeping the user's hands as free as possible, so that users can realize other tasks, feel real world textures, and be unencumbered! 6/7
Picture howing some of the works from speakers and organizers, all credit remains with original authors, the figure shows Shan-Yuan Teng's touch&fold, Yon's tactile echoes work, Mar's Haptic Pivot, and Allison's wearable haptics work.
