I agree Mark
This is great advice.
I am weirdly a big fan of @jayjaybrown97 ...they keep me thinking and reflecting on Jamaica! This @JamaicaGleaner editorial is masterful, timely and absolutely relevant! We should teach with this in classes. Well done @JamaicaGleaner
If a laugh a dead. Time to reveal.
Gleaner says @jayjaybrown97 is like a John Crow.
Jay circles like corbeaux swooping down to pick at certain specific kinds of content or to pursue particular and rather narrow lines of argument.

I actually love this for these children. They and their teachers are showing dedication and resilience. They will get their school buildings back. In the meantime make memories with cool outdoor learning. #bigupjamaica
This is effective educational innovation at at scale! Big up Jamaica.
Update: Jamaica, Irrespective of our differences in thought, this is something that we must build upon. Numbers don't lie and I am encouraged by the early successes of the Rural School Bus System.
The 2025 edition of the Economic and Social Survey Jamaica done by the PIOJ found that there has been an 80% improvement in attendance and a 90% improvement in punctuality since the launch of the Rural School Bus System.
This does not yet speak to the financial burden lifted from Rural Families. Approximately 13,000 students have been recorded from over 514 schools across Jamaica.
We are able to track the buses, provide data on usage and ridership and show you the benefit to taxpayers. This was never a buy-vote policy. It was an investment in our future and the implementation of a long overdue system for Rural Jamaica.
This is just some of the benefits. There have also been significant reductions in accidents and deaths involving students commuting to and from school.
If we believe that "every child can learn" then we must continue to champion that every child gets to school in a safe and secure manner. #ProudAchievement #RuralSchoolBus

Today, we celebrate 186 years since the end of slavery, a brutal system that our resilient ancestors overcame through immense determination. We honor their hard-fought battle and sacrifices for our freedom.
Together we remember the unconquerable spirit of our ancestors — the brave souls who broke the chains, who dared to dream of freedom, and who ignited a flame that would forever change the course of history. Today we raise our voices in jubilation.
We honour the legacy of our National Hero Sam Sharpe, whose sacrifice ignited a revolution. We remember his famous words in a letter to the British Parliament he said, “I would rather die upon yonder gallows than live in slavery”.
Happy Emancipation Day Jamaica! 🇯🇲 #EmancipationDay #Freedom
Is this a brain drain or a brain trust? The Jamaican diaspora has great skills, influence and mobility.

We need a law that requires each non voter to explain why they did not vote. If not they pay a $50 waste ballot fine.
#registered Voters ~ 1,900,000
# Ballots printed ~ 1,990,000
# Ballots used ~ 550,000
# Ballets to be dumped 1,440,000
Est cost per ballot ~ $22
Cost of wasted ballots $31.68m
That is a lot of money

A chastened government and a re-energized opposition, is a good thing for a healthy democracy. A complacent government gets arrogant and takes the electorate for granted. A vanquished opposition leaves the people’s business at the whim & fancy of a governing party. #Democracy🇯🇲
I would love to see us do this in Jamaica. Time to renew our education system. #Jamaica productivity.

I'm not sure. I think we will be going on to some new madness. My heart goes out to the young man that lost his life and the lady that lost her leg. The color and life and party atmosphere was appreciated by some of us living abroad. #lovejamrock!

Jamaica has won again! Our democracy works! These elections show our maturity, creativity and demand for even better quality.
On a night when both Prime Minister Andrew Holness and Opposition Leader Mark Golding claimed victory in the February 26 local government election, preliminary results showed that the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) had retained six of the island’s 14 municipal corporations, the PNP had won four, while three were tied.
