THANK YOU! The schools have these harmful policies and then wonder why kids don't want to go to school. Just welcome the students! Let them know you're glad they showed up! Get cops out of schools! Stop suspensions! Let them be. Just. Let. Them. Be.

It’s time to pass the #SolutionsNotSuspensions Act to ensure that our students education isnt put at risk from inequitable and ineffective suspensions. This bill requires schools to use proven alternatives to suspensions, which promote accountability but keep our kids in school.
This is fantastic. @joyharjo is a favorite of ours. We use her poem 'Grace' to write about friendship and 'Perhaps the World Ends Here' to write about significant locations for life events. We also work with humans who've been erased - but they ARE HERE

One parent could get my poetry banned from classrooms. And yet one country can't ban assault rifles from massacring them.

🧵 In 2018, my cousin & best friend Alex Schachter was killed by a gunman with an AR15 in Parkland. I am sick & tired of congressional inaction. On June 6th, I will sit-in at the US Capitol to demand a vote to #BanAssaultWeapons. I invite others to join me.
