we talk about smarter AI agents but a lot of the pain is simpler than that they’re too slow (?) a chain of slow responses kills the whole experience @general_compute x @positron_ai cook smth interesting GPUs handle prefill positron handles the memory-heavy token generation side Atlas is coming through General Compute in Q1 2027 Titan follows after that better agents need speed
🤝 Paid partnership
Our heterogeneous cloud just got better. We're announcing a cluster scale deployment of @positron_ai as our next partner. We believe demand for fast inference will outstrip supply for the next decade. Our bet on Positron is another step towards getting fast inference for opensource models into builders' hands. Hardware goes live Q1 2027. Thanks to @mitesh711, @trsohmers and the whole Positron team! We're excited for this partnership. LFG!

1/ Magic. I’ve been in software for 30+ years, and I’ve felt magic (only way to describe it), seeing a new technology, a few times. First, the internet. Then, Cloud. Most recently: winter of 2021. A demo of @heyjasperai sitting on top of GPT-3.

In the age of AI, simply aggregating supply is becoming less valuable.

I ensure that the journey from idea to scrappy & embarrassing product is super fast then I get paying clients. We then work together with those 1st paying believers to smooth out the product as we go.
founders, how do you validate your startup idea? at what stage do you feel it's truly validated? • just an idea? • a poc? • an mvp with users? what's the real signal of validation? when users say they love it or when they actually pay for it? curious to hear your experiences.

In 2011 people thought we would talk to our devices. But its 2026 and no one sits down every day and talks to their computers and phones. They type. Remember the Lindy rule. Humans only talk to things that are alive: Other people, animals, spiritual xitter.cf/benaratame/status/2111…

Slowing down isn’t an option & never was Good luck to the @opencode team and prayers for all losing money over this.
they've been non stop trying to attack our systems for the past 48 hours a side effect is everything is getting hardened but damn we basically need agents going 24/7 because that's what they have

Something similar is happening with thermo software btw A billion pbits coming your way sooner than you think
Anthropic says Claude Mythos could bring quantum computing “within reach sooner” after designing circuits that make a critical operation ~17x cheaper. What makes this interesting is AI can now design, test and improve these circuits on its own so that opens the door to faster breakthroughs across quantum computing without waiting for better hardware.

Let's talk about Seller Financing- As in, no bank, and Seller Finances most or all of the purchase price of their business to you. It's a spectrum of likelihood. The less bankable the business and the richer and more creditworthy and credible you are as the buyer, the more likely a Seller Financed deal is going to happen. In fact, if you're wealthy and proven, even great businesses that are perfectly bankable and have plenty of other options, might still offer you significant financing and enjoy earning interest from you if your signature is as good as gold. This is partly how the "rich get richer"- people love lending money to people that don't need money. The problem is most people asking about Seller Financing are low Net Worth and unproven (i.e. high risk buyers) and are wanting a high quality deal. That's the lowest likelihood scenario and generally a waste of a broker's time that has a good deal in hand that is bankable and has plenty of high quality Buyer options. Our Sellers usually want to cash out and not carry a bunch of risk after they sell. That's why that quadrant is red. So if you're poor and unproven, you either need to lower your standards and take on a challenging, unbankable deal that's got some "hair on it" (declining trend, owner dependence issues, customer concentration etc. that run off banks and high-end Buyers), OR you need a money partner or investor group to back you financially if you want to take down a higher quality deal. See graph for TLDR version of this.

excel monkeys in shambles right now
There is absolutely no alpha left in being an excel monkey better than anyone else This was already the case before AI, but more true today than ever before I am literally watching Claude in Excel build a forecast model better than 80% of analysts while I write this The hours of work it would take to put together a coherent analysis can now be done in minutes with proper prompting and instructions All the alpha in the investing world now sits outside of your desk. This includes talking to management teams, experts, former employees, competitors, trying the product itself, and so on Fundamentally think that the job of an investor will slowly start to resemble that of a journalist The real work will be done through conversations that an LLM cannot capture in the open web or inside of documents that everyone has access to

VC investors have enabled the AI industry to bastardize revenue reporting. In the 2010s, SaaS companies popularized reporting the metric of Annual Run Rate because it was a reliable measure of long term, contractual revenues into the future. The key is that the revenues are contracted and guaranteed thru the contract life hence why forecasting it forward is appropriate. VCs have taken this to mean Annualized Run Rate when AI is concerned and where you take transactional/API revenue from the last month (or even last week in some cases) and forecast it forward. It’s insane that investors have enabled this to happen but it’s happened.

Credit spreads are widening. That’s what I’ve been hearing the last week. Now, we are coming off of an incredibly tight spread environment the last 12 months. And they held up well during the war. So some cracks forming but can’t say how long or how bad.

The inbound I get from enterprise customers who want multi-year supply contracts and integrations tells me that software is very much not dead. Personal software won’t mesh with process-driven hierarchical businesses for a long old while.
Software is dead It's now the era of personal software and everyone just builds what they need whenever they need it I think

2027 will be the year of the personal agent. It has finally found PMF with Instinct, Muse & Grokbot. This will cause a tsunami of customer enquiries — it’s now essentially free for a customer to send hundreds of emails, texts and phonecalls to make a single purchase. Businesses will need AI customer service tools to save themselves from drowning.
