AI makes more possible.
It doesn’t make everything advisable.
Progress is not about implementing every technical possibility as quickly as possible. Sound leadership also means recognizing which possibilities we are not yet ready to use responsibly.
What's your take on this development?

The grandeur of Verona’s open-air opera

👉 "If the stage was good enough for Callas and Pavarotti, then the" limited "legroom is a minor indignity well worth enduring"

Socrates in the Street of the Marble Workers
antigonejournal.com/2026/08/…
✍️ John Sellars via @AntigoneJournal
👉 John Sellars explores the modest archaeological remains of Athens’s Street of the Marble Workers, tracing how this urban space of everyday tradespeople and the prison of his execution served as the birthplace of Socratic philosophy and Western ethics.
💡 By grounding abstract philosophical thought in a gritty neighbourhood of artisans, Sellars demystifies Socrates and reminds us that true philosophy was forged in ordinary public streets rather than academic towers.

This pilot surely knows his aircraft well.
From the earliest days of flight training, pilots are taught three fundamental priorities that follow them throughout their flying careers:
Aviate. Navigate. Communicate.
The top priority is always to aviate — fly the aircraft. Use the flight controls and instruments to maintain control of the aircraft’s attitude, airspeed and altitude.
Then navigate — establish where you are and where you’re going.
Finally, communicate — as appropriate, talk to ATC or others outside the aircraft.

The Einstein test: what happens when AI tries to rediscover relativity?
nature.com/articles/d41586-0…
✍️ Philip Ball via @Nature
👉 The article examines whether language models trained on historical data can independently replicate monumental creative breakthroughs in physics.
👉 The feature explores a retrospective benchmark to see if the system can shift from accelerating pattern recognition to independently formulating radical concepts like the equivalence principle and curved spacetime.
💡 By framing scientific creativity around the complex, long chains of conceptual reasoning that led to general relativity, Ball establishes a brilliant and necessary benchmark that moves the evaluation of AI past simple equation-solving or raw data ingestion.

Not Even Wrong 2: An Audit of Public AGI Prediction, 1950-2026
papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.…
✍️ Luciano Floridi, Jessica Morley, @novelli_claudio via @SSRN
👉 The authors audit 24 prominent public forecasts regarding the arrival of AGI and the AI apocalypse. The study reveals that 79% of these predictions are "not even wrong" because they rely on vague, unfalsifiable criteria, while testable deadlines from commercial labs consistently score the worst.
💡 By exposing these speculative timelines as unfalsifiable theatre, Floridi rightly demonstrates how sci-fi doom narratives are often weaponised by tech leaders to attract hype and shield themselves from accountability, while effectively distracting regulators from acute, immediate harms like compute monopolies.

Google said it the hacks did not warrant public disclosure because its model did not cause harm to the companies and ended each intrusion immediately after determining it had hacked a real company.
