I get suspicious when I hear someone identify themselves as a "leader." More often than not, they're just a manager. Calling yourself "leader" is like calling yourself "king." It's meaningless. Both are attributes, not job descriptions, and they're conferred by others.

Unicode has a zero-valued fraction in it: ↉ it's for compatibility with… baseball! “In the event that a pitcher is surrendered without getting a single out, the number of innings pitched shall be recorded as ↉ instead of 0.” ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E6%8A…

Another common question I’m answering working with scaling tech companies is… Q. What’s the worst leadership advice you’ve heard? A. By far the worst is “Hire great people and get out of their way”. Let me explain… 🧵 (1/32)

Agile: • Work small • Talk to each other • Make people’s lives better That’s it. All that other junk is a distraction.

This is a really good point. A backlog is a conversation, and all the items in the backlog are part of that conversation. As the conversation evolves, some items are discarded and new ones appear, but the ones you remove have done their job, influencing the new direction.
Replying to @allenholub
I believe there is this notion of losing the information captured, so the backlog becomes a library of things the team has discussed. Removing the stories would then render the discussions "useless", which is not true since these discussions already added to shared understanding.

The vet told us that James needs to lose a bit of weight. We have to stop giving him treats. I've been feeling sorry for him & giving him treats in secret. Found out my wife has too. So James has been getting more treats than ever before

Can I talk to the person on the @awscloud Compute Optimizer team who priced the billing dimension to ten decimal places of precision? I’m not mad or anything, I just think you could really use someone to talk to.

Sometimes an engineer will get their company to open source a project. Then there will be a couple of commits and it's never touched again. That engineer just passed their work to themselves so they could use it in their new job. This is called "pulling a Netflix."
