David Samson's daughter died this week, at 28, nine months after she was diagnosed with brain cancer. This afternoon, I asked David to tell me about Kyra. It was as heartwarming as it was heavy: "The magic of Kyra."

Not that you asked…
Zlatan is a global star.
Thierry a global legend.
@AlexiLalas a former player. His punditry is US based and held to account for a limited audience. That’s not a critique, just so.
Thierry and Zlatan do not consider him a footballing peer by why would they? The quality gap is enormous.
If Alexi can swallow his ego and recognize this, all is well and in order for footballing heirarchy.
Let’s go!

Leo Messi to a fan: "Your pen doesn't work"
The fan: It doesn't work!!!
Then Messi used his personal pen to sign and nearly drove off without it until the fan reminded him. 😂

Wish this was communicated before the match to the club so that the players be informed instead of them singing some bad song with changed lyrics which was used to insult Messi in Copa America years ago , that’s why he was triggered fire doesn’t put out fire

National team pathways should always be merit-based and federation-supported. not something families feel they need to “buy into.” It also sends the wrong message to other players grinding without the same access. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have US ID camps, our player pool is global and a huge chunk of eligible talent is US-based.

One player. Two nations. An extraordinary football story about to play out on the biggest stage 🇦🇺🇵🇭👇
Four years ago, Angie Beard was chasing a different version of this story.
Missing out on the Matildas squad for the 2022 Asian Cup fractured her international career - and something unexpected appeared through the opening.
This weekend, she will line up for The Philippines AGAINST Australia and has told her teammates to prepare for the 'hardest game of their lives'.
This is the story of how she got here: tinyurl.com/5bkuue7w

Jollibee, the Filipino fast-food chain known for its fried chicken, burgers, and sweet spaghetti, was born out of a demand for American fast food in a postcolonial Philippines. To differentiate itself, the chain adjusted flavors to suit the local palate, influenced by a long history of Indigenous, Chinese, and Spanish settlement that “demands maximum levels of sour, sweet, salty, and umami.” theatln.tc/KU5DAg62
Now, the chain has more than 1,700 stores across the globe and is set on reshaping the American palate in a uniquely Filipino way. Yasmin Tayag talks with her colleague Ellen Cushing over a shared meal.
