The NFL confirmed today that line judge Jeff Seeman has been suspended for two games and referee Adrian Hill has been suspended for one game, each for an instance of unprofessional conduct toward a player in Sunday’s Arizona-New York Giants (Seeman) and Miami-Minnesota games (Hill). The suspensions were issued by NFL Vice President of Officiating Ramon George.

Florida Panthers head coach Paul Maurice says don’t bet on any report regarding Barkov’s injury.
“Hang on to your cash.”
Coyote vs. Acme is the clear and the very last winner for Warner Bros. before heading into this merger that nobody wants. And they didnt even deserve that. Kudos to @ketchupent

Maurice on Barkov's timeline: "We need a certain amount of information before we can make our best estimate, and we don't have that information yet. Everyone is guessing. He's in with doctors."

Paul Maurice says he doesn't know yet about Aleksander Barkov's status or timeline. "If I don't know, nobody else does," Maurice said.
Barkov met with doctors today. The fact there's no timeline probably means there are multiple options.
This is your 4:29 p.m. Barky update.

Maurice says Barkov is still meeting with doctors, and they'll have another update tomorrow.
On the report going around: "Do not bet your hard earned money on that one. I know you can bet on everything these days, but hang on to your cash. ... If I don't know, nobody else does."

On the 8th of each month, starting in November, the Capitals will announce different initiatives to honour Ovi, who’s going to retire after 22 NHL season. Some things to watch this season:

This has been in the works for some time. Big props to Colleen Harvey, the club’s Pres & CEO, who has been behind this and the push to get OSU to D1. I’ll be in Stillwater for the game on Jan. 30.
Another example of how hockey is growing/exploding in the south. This program will be an absolute D1 powerhouse before you know it.
"Bedlam on Ice" b/w Oklahoma State & Oklahoma's club hockey teams will be Jan. 30 at 6 pm inside Boone Pickens Stadium, sources told @On3. It's 1st Bedlam game in BPS since the rivalry's 2023 football finale. Open skating for public will be available few days around the event

Brad Marchand surprisingly joined the #FlaPanthers lineup last night, ahead of a November timeline set before the season began. Despite a strong statistical outing and a late game-tying goal, he was critical of his debut evening.

Hockey ice is white because it's painted. Rinks freeze a thin base layer, spray it with white paint, then seal the paint under more ice. The league has done this since the 1940s so fans could follow a black puck. Then someone pointed a projector at it.
It turns out hockey had accidentally built the best movie screen in sports. Matte white paint under a sheet of clear ice diffuses light almost perfectly, and the whole surface is dead flat.
It's also enormous. An NHL rink is 200 feet by 85, about 17,000 square feet. A standard IMAX screen is around 4,000.
A show like this takes roughly a dozen 20,000-lumen projectors hung in the rafters, aimed nearly straight down so the beams don't glare off the ice or bleed into the seats. Software warps and blends all of them into one picture that fits the rink's rounded corners pixel for pixel. The Devils put about $1 million into their rig a decade ago, and arenas across the league copied it.
San Jose was always going to push this furthest. The Sharks have run the most famous entrance in hockey since the 90s, a 17-foot shark head lowered from the rafters with fog pouring out of its mouth and eyes glowing red. For thirty years the players skated out of the tank. Now the whole rink is the tank, and the sharks circling under their skates are just light bouncing off paint that was only ever there to make a puck visible.

Just been told that Aleksander Barkov’s injury will sideline him in the range of 10-12 weeks.
That timeline would have him returning around Christmas/New Years.
