CHAMPIONS OF SOUTHEAST ASIA! šµšāØ
The Filipinas are SEA Games Champions! From belief to bravery, from grit to glory, this team finished the job and rewrote the story on the regional stage.

Iāve been deep into sports media for the last five years, but before Canva and Photoshop, Excel was the love of my life. The relationship was toxic but very productive.
Saturday night, driving home with my partner, Mariah Deborahās album on repeat, and a rare traffic-free C5. Thoroughly enjoyed the drive home.ā¤ļø
MIDNIGHT CHIKA: Indie artis Kaydee Sunchild calls Mariah Deborahās āNa Para Bangā baduy and questions its place in the spotlight.
Gets naman na everyone has their own taste in music, and thereās nothing wrong with preferring UDD, Tomās Story, or Urbandub. Pero the way she frames artistry, musicality, and depth as though these automatically make other artists more deserving of recognition comes across as elitist.
Since when did being baduy automatically mean a song doesnāt deserve its success? Music doesnāt have to be critically acclaimed or complex to resonate with people. Hindi naman kailangang may ibaba para may maiangat. And telling people to study what good music is because they enjoy a song you donāt like? Thatās unnecessarily condescending.
What I also find in poor taste is using the attention surrounding the controversy to get people to check out your own music. Nothing wrong with promoting yourself, but doing so in the context of putting another artistās work down can come across as opportunistic.
You can champion the artists you believe deserve more recognition without implying that another artist, and the people who enjoy her music, deserve less. Music is subjective and having different taste doesnāt make you superior.

Most people in France can't afford housing.
They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast.
They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.
The West Coast Conference-leading Pepperdine Womenās Soccer team boasts seven Filipina-Americans, with six of them earning starts in their previous match against Seattle University, a 3-1 win that saw two Filipinas get on the scoresheet.
A testament to the depth of Filipino heritage talent across the diaspora and the growing presence of Filipina-Americans in the game.

Kaya hindi porket may mic at confident ka, magpa-podcast ka na. Kailangan mo rin ng utak at substance. Otherwise, maingay ka lang na may microphone.
Iāve spent half the day brainstorming with Claude Code, and I feel like Iām talking to an alien, but definitely learning A LOT. I love it when the blinds are completely rolled up. Make it Makati, baby!

There is nothing macho about making fun of a person with a disability. Nothing funny about calling someone āwalang kwentaā simply because they experience the world differently.
The Filipinas split their two-match series against Peru, bouncing back from a 2-1 defeat with a 2-0 win in the return fixture.
After Raquel Bilcapeās brace handed the Philippines a defeat in the opener, Camryn Penn and Mallie Ramirez struck in the second match, both assisted by Dionesa Tolentin.
Penn scored her first international goal, while Ramirez netted her fourth. The series also saw Kellie Pagador and Alyssa White make their Filipinas debuts.

Watching the impeachment trial brought me straight back to college and those night classes in Income Taxation and Business Law. Itās one thing to study these concepts in a classroom, but another to watch those lessons unfold and be applied in real time. What a refresher course!
More than that, what a breath of fresh air to witness a new breed of lawyers. Seeing these amazing pro bono lawyers show up, do the work, and stand up for justice is a powerful reminder of what the legal profession can and should be.
One can only hope our senator-judges will rise to the same occasion, guided by the Constitution and the courage to put principle above politics.

Almost half of female footballers are considering leaving the sport because of financial concerns or psychological stress, a @FIFPRO survey of about 800 players says. Only 76% of players are always paid on time. 57% have struggled with their mental health.

The biggest takeaway is that there are still a lot of Filipino misogynists.
To quote Atty. Erwin Matib, "I just want to know kung saan po papunta si Atty. Ferrer, because I want to go where she wants to go, but paikot-ikot na po." #VPonTrial
Iāve reached out to PFF Media to clarify whether the two-match series against Peru is classified as Tier 1 international friendlies, but I have yet to receive a response.
The first match has already been played, with the second scheduled for October 13. However, the first fixture doesnāt appear in FIFAās live womenās world rankings, unlike matches such as USA vs Spain on October 14.
The classification matters because FIFA ranking points are affected by eligible international matches. If the Peru fixtures arenāt counted, the Filipinas would neither gain nor lose points from these results. If they are counted, the results could affect their ranking points depending on the outcome.
Coach Mark referred to the games as ātune-upsā rather than friendlies. Does that reflect a difference in classification, or are these matches being treated as official international friendlies?
Awaiting clarification from PFF Media.
3RD CONSECUTIVE QUALIFICATION!
