Neither Badenoch nor Jenrick are Conservative. With the defeat of Cleverly the far right has secured the famous Conservative brand and with it the party apparatus. A movement comparable to Trump’s Republicans or the AFD has emerged in Britain:

What climate change?
🧵 I've put together this thread to show just how much flooding has happened around the world, and this is only for the month of September—and it's not even over yet! Please share this because I don't think the message is getting out there.

Tim Farron, "The unpleasantness about this debate is only matched by the lack of proper information" #BBCQT
"85% of refugees settle in the country next to where they come from"
"The French take 3x more refugees than we do"
"The Germans take 4x more refugees than we do"
"If you put us back in the European Union, we are 19th in the league table when it comes to the number of refugees we take per capita"
"Do we need deterrents? Yes. The best deterrents is competence. If we assess people when they arrive - and they are not illegal immigrants - they are people seeking asylum.. From Sudan.. Afghanistan.. Iran.. Syria.. 90%+ turn out to be genuine refugees"
"If we have a competent government, and we haven't had one, let's see about this one.. And you assess them quickly.. And return the ones that are not refugees"
"That is your deterrent"
"Rwanda was a waste of money.. If they spent that money on case workers we could have processed these people, returned the ones that weren't refugees in a humane way, and let th eones who are genuine refugees, become British, pay their taxes, be part of our country, and we should be proud to admit them"
Very well said @timfarron 👏

Another #Brexit win!
Tories reduced the maximum residue levels (MRLs) for 49 pesticides, 15 of which are on a “highly hazardous” list, making our food toxic. Some pesticide residues have increased by 4,000 times!!

Thirty minutes of unbalanced Starmer bashing on tonight's #Newsnight. @davidyelland doing his best against the toxic double act of Tom Harwood and the increasingly rabid Nick Watt. This was a disgrace.
The BBC political editor (260K pa) thinks it's
a story that the Downing Street chief of staff (170K pa) earns more than the PM (167Kpa).
Welcome to political journalism!
PS Laura Kuenssberg is on 325K, Nick Robinson 340K and Fiona Bruce even more.

Another element of this shocking story about epic malfeasance at the @JewishChron is that Robbie Gibb, who claims to own the paper, lectures BBC journalists on impartiality in his capacity as a non-executive director & reportedly interferes in recruitment.
It seems that by firing Elon Perry @JewishChron is hoping to put this whole affair to bed, as if decisions weren’t made at the very top to employ a fake journalist, publish nine fake articles without verifying sources, and use the paper an active agent in a pro-Bibi influence op.

Gov. Walz: Look, we all deal with it. Friends, neighbors, family. ‘Oh, I like Donald Trump. I don't really like how he swears and gets convicted of felonies and found liable for assaulting women. I like his proposals.’ Which one? Forcing women to bleed out in parking lots because they can't get health care? Tax cuts for billionaires? No one wants that agenda

The influence of the Daily Mail on the BBC remains huge..even though the party it supports was slaughtered at the general election. The banal assertions of ‘impartiality’ are not valid while it tamely and fearfully follows up overblown Mail stories:
