That infinitely small window after the washing program finishes, where you have the opportunity to take the clothes to the dryer, is what originally inspired Newton to invent calculus

Throwing out all my underwear and buying 30 identical Calvin Klein boxer briefs was one of the best decisions I ever made
Unfathomable amount of decision fatigue avoided by not needing to pick exactly which pair of underwear that I don’t really like to wear every morning

I need help (I just don't know what with, yet):
A 31-day living 🧵
I was having a conversation last month with @peptalksblog about a block I have around not only asking for help but even registering help as an option (i.e. noticing when I'm in a situation where the average person might naturally reach out/source support, etc.)
We decided to go in on a 31 day challenge in July around asking for help with something (big or small) every day.
My first thought was "July is *so* busy for me. I don't have time to get help every day," which immediately exposed my bias in the department.
I spent a lot of my life being so bad at articulating my needs that when others would step in to try to help with something, they'd usually miss the mark and then I'd see 'performing gratitude' as another stressful & time-consuming item on my to-do list.
So I decided that this month, if I can't ask for help every day, I'm going to work on at least becoming aware of things I do need help with and getting better at articulating them.
A principle I teach and theoretically hold is that it's best to attend to needs & start looking (flexibly) for ways to fulfill them when they're at ~a 3-5 out of 10. I'd like to start properly living this, so I'm going to record for the next 31 days, things I am noticing myself needing support on, or instances where I ask directly for help. May even post a few open asks within the thread itself.
Starting this out I feel vaguely anxious and uncomfortable. We'll see how I feel by the end!
AND absolutely feel free to join in on this, if it calls to anyone reading! Would *love* to follow along with & draw inspiration from anyone else's asks.

Went to vibecamp 2 in 2023, knowing 0 people personally, having never posted on twitter, a complete lurker. It was a transcendent experience, first time in my adult life that I truly didn't feel alone in that there were other people with similar experiences to me. Changed my life trajectory more than most other events (I literally live on a different continent because of second order connections from it!). If you're at all considering going, especially if you feel like you might not belong because you're a lurker, just go and hang out, it will almost certainly be wonderful!
PS: If you do do this for the first time, I recommend taking 3 days off afterwards to integrate instead of trying to go straight back to live, it will fuck you up.

Reading “Integral Meditation” by Ken Wilbur, he’s saying if you haven’t fully integrated a developmental stage, the needs of that stage will overwhelm you. The first one hits hard: the stage of being subject to survival desires: warmth, shelter, FOOD.
