It’s less of a “switch” and more of a “co-equal branch of government” called Congress, and Mike, you’re not gonna believe me when I tell you who controls it
House Speaker Johnson says inflation is "too high still ... I wish we could flip a light switch and reverse all that overnight, but it takes time."

I am very grateful to the U.S. Supreme Court for their decision to grant a stay of execution. I will continue working to ensure justice prevails in this important case.

This might be the dumbest analogy I’ve ever heard. Raising the debt ceiling would not authorize new spending. It would let the U.S. pay the bills that Kevin McCarthy and Donald Trump ALREADY ran up with tax breaks for billionaires and giant corporations. thewrap.com/kevin-mccarthy-c…

Perhaps we shouldn’t spend upwards of $1.7 trillion on a failed F-35 fighter jet program when 94% of public school teachers are forced to spend their own money on school supplies?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
So far only $397.8 billion has been spent on the F-35. The $1.7 trillion figure comes from an estimate by the GAO of the additional costs spent on maintenance ($1.3 trillion) over the 66-year service life of the planes until their expected retirement in 2070. bloomberg.com/news/articles/… gao.gov/assets/730/720…

Markwayne Mullin wins the OK GOP Senate primary. So Kendra Horn gets the more extreme and less qualified GOP opponent in the race for the open seat. "Longtime Oklahoma political strategists say if any Democrat could win in [OK], it’s Horn." rollcall.com/2022/08/18/ex-r…

We're calling it. One more hot day, then a smooth transition into early fall! Oh, it will still get hot here and there, but you get rid of that final August heat, you're on the downward slide. Come on, have we ever been wrong before? Okay, other than those times? #okwx #okmesonet

Oklahoma politicians are afraid Oklahoma students will learn to think for themselves. Why? They don't want future voters to be able to see through their bullshit.

I’ve decided to endorse @RepLizCheney for the Republican nomination for the House seat In Wyoming it’s my first time endorsing in a GOP primary. But I think Al Franken’s support will carry a lot of weight with WY Republicans.
