passkey wallet using firewall hook, locking the wallet to the passkey. hooks + bootloader = no backend. try it now shortthefomo.github.io/p-256… (testnet) seed is sEdTUnKA84N6zcb2dwbrTtQcdCWrqmz see if you can drain that wallet as well from the demo 👀

By way of history, the most efficient validators have been the ones who become noticed, not asked - who get asked to join a UNL based on their history and performance rather than by way of 'applying'. TRUST is earned, not bought. Past worst performers were the paid ones...

that is mostly the problem though with the current situation... IT ensure the validator works, never runs checks to ensure the validator is kept up-to-date with versions, usually only does when amendment blocked, usually never vote on amendments nor participate in discussions.

The Holy Grail has been running the network for much of the past 10 plus years, people just fail to see it.

I run nodes and validators on both networks. On the XRPLD level originally because I was invested and to learn how it all worked. Now primarily for testing the underlying code and changes to it on the 'live network' I often run a locally modified binary to prove/disprove fixes.

Define strengthen. What makes them any better than the ones we already have? Most 'corporate' bodies leave such detail to their IT dept's who, generally speaking, only bother to maintain when they get amendment blocked, and show no interest in discussing/voting on amendments

@uptownsaul - your pitch conflates a validator with a node. Most of the benefits you list come from running your own xrpld node. A validator adds almost nothing to them, and as a validator their privacy doesn't exist. You shouldn't be using a validator for transactional activity

@DriveWealth would love to see you guys spin up an XRPL validator. You would enjoy privacy, increased access, and lower counterparty risk, and you would be strengthening the network on which you rely. Contact @XRPLF for more details.

Realistically it can't be any different than the two that already exist, except for two variations. The XRPL consensus model relies on approx 93-95% overlap to avoid forking.

If you want to know where the unaccounted for 65K XRP are (plus some IOU's). In 29 transactions, XRP was debited from one account and never credited to another. It was destroyed by a bug in rippled’s payment engine in 2013–14, fixed in July 2014. github.com/rippleitinnz/Wher…

I can tell you that from my research there has been zero extra XRP ever created - there has been some XRP and IOU's that failed to get credited to accounts due to a bug, but conversely I also checked the reverse that showed zero XRP had ever been created since the 100B at Genesis

This is an outstanding write-up from @offledger about an early bug that destroyed some XRP; every drop accounted for. Need to catch more eyeballs with quality information like this. Read the article! xitter.cf/offledger/status/21093…
