We are pleased that our Executive Director, Phn.@Mbalphonse1 , contributed as a speaker to the Rwanda Pharmacy Workforce Readiness Enhancement Program on 22 October 2026 at Centric Hotel, Kigali. His session, “Workforce wellness and chronic disease prevention: A guide for early-career pharmacists,” highlighted the importance of protecting health throughout working life, with a focus on NCD prevention, reducing sedentary behaviour, physical activity, and knowing one’s health status. He encouraged early-career pharmacists to prioritize their own well-being while championing prevention in the communities they serve. We thank Vennue Foundation, @RwandaNPC , and @Uni_Rwanda for creating this opportunity to support Rwanda’s pharmacy workforce. A healthy workforce starts with making well-being a daily priority. #BeatNCDs

I would like to thank all those who have prayed for me in recent days. I wish to express my particular gratitude to the doctors, nurses and all the staff of the Gemelli Hospital. This experience has made me feel particularly close to all those who are living with illness or infirmity. Now that I have overcome this delicate phase I will gradually resume my activities, always with God’s help and your prayers.

On behalf of the government and people of South Africa, I offer warm congratulations to His Excellency President @PaulKagame and the government and people of Rwanda on securing a 10-year agreement to host the Formula 1 African Grand Prix. South Africa shares in the pride with which Rwanda is preparing to fly the chequered flag for our continent with the hosting of a globally prestigious event at the planned Bugesera circuit from the early 2030s. This contract is a recognition of the capabilities of the Rwandan nation and of our continent more broadly. As host of the first Grand Prix on African soil in 1993, and organiser of other major global events, South Africa will be happy to provide any support we may be invited to share. The F1 African Grand Prix is another lustrous addition to Rwanda’s growing collection of top international events, including the UCI-classified Tour du Rwanda cycling race. Congratulations, Rwanda. You are in pole position to make all of Africa proud and take motorsport to new heights.

Every Oct. 13, people around the world come together on #WorldThrombosisDay to raise awareness, recognise the signs and help prevent thrombosis, a major underlying mechanism of acute cardiovascular events. In 2026, the campaign is putting women’s health in focus. Thrombosis is a blood clot that forms in a vein or artery and can block blood flow. A woman’s risk of developing a clot changes from adolescence and reproductive health through pregnancy, postpartum, menopause and beyond. You can learn more about key risk, signs and how to take control of your health here on the @isth's campaign website: worldthrombosisday.org/ #WTDay26

🌍 A movement, not just a moment. The Run for Her: End PPH Campaign brought together a community committed to protecting mothers' lives and advancing maternal health. From raising awareness about postpartum hemorrhage to promoting blood donation and community engagement, the event demonstrated the power of collective action in addressing preventable maternal deaths. As the campaign concludes, our commitment continues. 💜 Until every mother survives childbirth. Until no woman dies while giving life. #EndPPH #RunForHer #RSOG #MaternalHealth #SafeMotherhood #WomensHealth #SaveMothersLives
Thank You for Running for Her Our heartfelt gratitude goes to everyone who joined the Run for Her: End PPH Campaign and helped make this initiative a success. From healthcare professionals, partners, and blood donors to community members, families, and advocates, your presence and participation sent a powerful message: no woman should die while giving life. Together, we walked, ran, donated blood, raised awareness, and strengthened the collective movement to prevent deaths caused by postpartum hemorrhage (PPH), one of the leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide. Thank you to all our partners, volunteers, supporters, and participants for standing with us in support of safer motherhood and healthier communities. These moments captured in the photos remind us that meaningful change happens when communities come together with a shared purpose. Every mother matters. Every donation matters. Every step matters. Together, we continue the journey toward a future where no woman dies from preventable causes during childbirth. #RunForHer #EndPPH #RSOG #MaternalHealth #SafeMotherhood #SaveMothersLives #BloodDonation #EveryMotherMatters #HealthyCommunities 💜🏃‍♀️🩸

I’ve been following discussions across social media about milk shortages in Rwanda. As a veterinary doctor, I believe we need a coordinated review of the challenges and a practical plan to strengthen milk supply and prevent future shortages. I recommend a national workshop bringing together dairy industries, relevant government institutions, veterinary doctors and farmers to review production and supply challenges, agree on strategies and assign clear responsibilities. Priorities should include year-round access to feed and water, fodder conservation, stronger animal health and breeding services, farmer training, and reliable milk collection and cold storage. Agreed actions need timelines and regular follow-up.

HEALTH IN FOCUS 🇷🇼 | Moving for Mental Health Sports and physical activity are not just about keeping our bodies fit; they also play an important role in protecting our mental well-being. From walking and cycling to running and exercising together, activities promoted during #carfreeday offer opportunity to reduce stress, improve mood, strengthen social connections, and support healthier minds. As we mark #WorldMentalHealthDay , let’s remember that caring for our mental health can also start with movement. Every step, every ride, and every moment of physical activity can contribute to our overall well-being #CarFreeDay #SoberGhee #SoberGen #Tunyweless #SoberChou
Today is #WorldMentalHealthDay , a reminder that your mental health matters just as much as your physical health. Taking care of yourself should always be a priority. Life won't always be easy, but you don't have to face the difficult moments alone. Reach out to someone you trust, share how you feel, and remember that asking for support is a sign of strength. Be kind to yourself, celebrate how far you've come, and give yourself the same love and care you so readily offer others. This year’s theme reminds us to listen to people with lived experiences and ensure their voices are heard, respected, and reflected in the support they receive. Your mental health matters today and every day. #WorldMentalHealthDay #MentalHealthMatters

Deeply saddened by the massive fire that gutted GOICO Plaza/Musanze Market yesterday, destroying so many traders’ goods and investments. Grateful no lives were reported lost. Condolences to all affected families and friends. Let’s strengthen emergency fire response systems, training, market design, and prevention measures nationwide to protect lives and livelihoods going forward. #Musanze
