Churchill could have shortened WW2 by years if he had just “done a deal” with Hitler. George Washington could have done a deal to end the American Revolution. Zelenskyy is in good company.

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota.
To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically.
Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country.
Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case.
Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve.
In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota.
The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.
Hey @ESBNetworks - You've just sent me a notification of all day power maintenance for the third time in less than two months. This is really problematic given that I work from home. Can you please sort whatever needs to be sorted once and for all?
Hey @AskAIB , can you stop sending me nuisance texts please? I don't need to be interrupted mid-meeting by a text saying "Easy ways to spot a scam. A text message or a call asking you for a code, or to move your money is a scam. We won't do that."

Incredible @NPR story on how Fox journalists got killed in Ukraine after the lead reporter ignored repeated security warnings and took his team into a battlefield they had been told to avoid. A Russian missile then destroyed their car. npr.org/2026/10/04/nx-s1-573…

“Overall, the probability that a plane full of Israelis will contain a trained assault team, two additional pilots, and, statistically, at least one cardiac surgeon, psychologist, lawyer, and diamond dealer is substantially higher than 50%.”
A passenger on the Dubai–Tel Aviv flight recounts:
“We are currently in Saudi Arabia.
One of the crew members attacked the pilot with a knife and disabled the aircraft’s systems. Yaniv (pictured?) and another passenger stormed the cockpit and subdued the attacker.
Luckily, there were two more pilots on board. They were the ones who managed to land the plane.”
Well, yes. Overall, the probability that a plane full of Israelis will contain a trained assault team, two additional pilots, and, statistically, at least one cardiac surgeon, psychologist, lawyer, and diamond dealer is substantially higher than 50%.

Duo-Man offers the complete walkman experience on the iPhone Duo. Open the Duo to pick and 'insert' the cassette, Close the Duo to start listening.
Yes, I actually recorded the button clicks and static noise from a real Walkman!
It was fun making this at @bitrig hacks today.

This transcript is infuriating.
One thing that stands out is the commanding flaps 30 (final flaps) at between 10’-40’ AGL and then another “too low terrain”.
This means that:
1) the flaps hadn’t reached 30 yet at around 20’ AGL
AND
2) they were flying at over 159 knots (otherwise GPWS says “too low Flaps” below 159)
That’s over 160 knots with flaps in transit between maybe 10-20’ over the runway.
This is a masterclass on stupidity

Oh god I hope a name change is the first thing they do. Worst name for a coaster ever. And that's really saying something.
Absolute top of this list for me is people who don't use headphones in public and force the rest of us to endure their dreadful musical taste or shite TikTok videos.
signs you’re a bottom tier member of society:
- littering
- cutting in line
- not returning your shopping cart
- not saying thank you when someone holds the door
- parking in a handicap spot when you don’t need one
- carving your name into or graffitiing nature
- wearing pajamas to the airport
- passing your pet off as a service animal
- being rude to service workers
- lying/stealing/cheating
