Unbelievably direct and honest
The retrospective application of the 2019 Loan Charge is absolutely wrong. If the Government doesn't put it right then I, and the House of Commons, will act to limit HMRC's ability to take retrospective action against hard working taxpayers.

Once again corprate enablers of avoidace, incuding @ICAEW and @CIOTNews members, have acted illegally. Anyone want to bet on whether they get a stern talking to, versus what happens to victims of industrialsied avoidance like #LoanCharge ? @loanchargeAPPG bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c64g…

It is not acceptable that deep pocket large businesses were allowed to settle the same schemes for a fraction of what was due, or that banks were offered a 50% deal, when thousands of individuals who could not pay at all have been hammered.

#loancharge question. I have found the umbrella agencies insurers details. Can some or all of the liability under the loan charge be claimed under mis-selling or fraud? Thoughts? Is this something anyone has explored?

What's changed in 2 yrs for the "..000s of individuals who could not pay at all.." that meant a "review" carried out by the same @Ray_McCann55 concluded that the same 000s are now expected to pay exactly the same as before? Can anyone explain ? @loanchargeAPPG #LoanCharge

HMRC are, at best, misleading with their press releases. At worst, they are outright lying to the government, to Parliament and to the public. xitter.cf/Nervous_72/status/2102…

Just received my settlement brown letter. A net 5% reduction in already life changing figures. The addition of promoters fees eliminated any perceived reduction. A masterclass in deception by @Ray_McCann55

You would have thought that multiple #suicides and Self-harm related to one government policy #LoanCharge would have raised alarm bells. Question: Is the actions of the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) incompetence, a cover-up or systemic failure.
Another important development in #loanchargescandal. #loancharge @loanchargeAPPG. Story by my colleague @MichaelCrossla7

LCAG has written to congratulate new FST @griffitha & urge him to work with colleagues to finally resolve #LoanCharge scandal. Having previously called for "amnesty all but most egregious cases" Mr Griffith now has opportunity to end this nightmare. hmrcloancharge.info/wp-conte…

@HuddlestonNigel It is almost 7 years since I first highlighted the coming catastrophe that would be the loan charge. @HMRCgovuk has largely alienated many who supported the policy of closing these schemes. The lack of consistent, fair, humane settlement terms has been shameful. – at Hitcham, England

I'll be making my first ever submission to MPs about HMRCs behaviour on October 20th 2026 in front of the Loan Charge and Tax Payer Fairness APPG and it will also be published.

I wonder why this guy didn't have a word with himself about these strongly held views when he was paid to help @HMRCgovuk with their latest sham review of #LoanCharge. Perhaps he should ask himself why that was. 🤨 @loanchargeAPPG

In future, once he has been rinsed through a private sector role, do not be surprised if ex-HMRC big cheese Jim Harra starts criticizing HMRC, just before he gets parachuted in as the next #LoanCharge independent review lead. Saw what they did there with McCann?
