Today I take the highly controversial position that in fact 4 year universities are supposed to be about education, not football, sex, drinking, or hiring lots of administrators, and they've lost the plot.

"How can someone be almost 30 and still a student?" is the most ignorant attack these Sanghis throw at Neha. That's how a PhD works. I was 31 when I got my PhD and I was among the youngest people in my 15 person cohort at Penn State.

An extremely relevant paper, given the renewed concern that wealth taxes lead to massive out-migration:
The Norwegian wealth tax "exodus", discussed in global media, never happened. At most 100 individuals left. Tax revenue increased by +71.5%. No changes in business activity.
Norway's controversial 2021–2024 reforms nearly doubled the tax on business wealth. Firms of affected owners did not invest less, and outmigration was limited to the very top, from @Mariusring nber.org/papers/w35854

People who claim AI is all bad are wrong. The failures when people try to automate their lives with it will be endlessly entertaining to me, which is good.

The introduction of MDR on large-value UPI transactions (i.e., above ₹2,000) is an important step towards strengthening the long-term sustainability of India’s digital payments ecosystem. It will help UPI in continuing to scale, innovate and serve consumers and businesses across the country.
A fair and appropriate distribution of MDR across ecosystem participants will support continued investment in technology, infrastructure and acceptance networks. This, in turn, can enable wider UPI acceptance, deepen the customer base and support sustained growth in transaction volumes.
Importantly, all UPI transactions - P2P and P2M - shall remain free for users. P2M UPI transactions below ₹2,000 will continue to remain free for merchants, while MDR may be levied on merchants for P2M .
RBI remains committed to ensuring that UPI continues to be safe, seamless, affordable, and accessible, while supporting the long-term sustainability and growth of India’s world-class digital payments ecosystem.

Excellent coincidence to be in London during #LondonTheatreWeek - highly recommend #TheOresteia by Simon Stone playing at Bridge Theatre. Excellent acting, adaptation, sets, anti-war and anti-arms themes.

Dear @BAPS - it’s very simple. If you don’t want to be around women stay inside your own Swaminarayan temple. It is nice enough & large enough. Why do you need to visit the Eiffel Tower & ask that women be removed? Don’t embarrass India globally with this lunacy.
