High Sound for Children continues to empower learners through digital literacy and confidence-building sessions as part of its mission to unpack media for children and young people. Our latest visit was to Sarah Ntiiro PEAS Secondary School in Mayuge District, where learners are gaining skills to navigate media responsibly and confidently express themselves. In this video, learners and their teacher patron share their experiences and reflections on the sessions. Thank you @PEASchools for making this possible.@UCC_Official @UCC_ED @GenderUnitMoES #HighSoundForChildren #MediaLiteracy #DigitalLiteracy #EmpoweringYoungPeople #SmartMedia @

Over the next two days, political party leaders are meeting in Jinja to explore how Uganda can manage its diversity to strengthen peaceful political competition, inclusion, and sustainable democratic governance. Our belief is simple: political differences do not have to become permanent barriers to cooperation. With sustained #dialogue, political actors can build the trust needed to address shared challenges and move toward a more inclusive democratic future. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

Reconciliation does not require political actors to abandon their convictions. National healing does not mean ignoring grievances or pretending differences don’t exist. Instead, both demand a willingness to listen, acknowledge diverse experiences, engage with difficult questions, and seek pathways to peaceful coexistence. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

Hon Godfrey Ssuubi Kiwanda challenged the political party leaders to reflect on two fundamental questions: “How do we move forward?” and “How do we respect each other in the middle of differences?” #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUG

The Chairperson of the National Consultative Forum (NCF), Hon Godfrey Ssuubi Kiwanda, called on political parties to look beyond electoral victories and defeats and focus on the shared responsibility of building a peaceful, inclusive and democratic Uganda. He emphasized that winning an election should not mean disregarding citizens who voted for other candidates or parties. Instead, political leaders needed to respect one another, acknowledge differing political views and work together in the national interest. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

Political party leaders are exploring ways to strengthen inter-party dialogue, build confidence across divides, support inclusive political processes, promote peaceful management of disagreements, and turn consensus into action. This engagement offers an opportunity to reflect on Uganda’s post-election environment, consider pathways to reconciliation and national healing, and identify strategies to strengthen inter-party dialogue and cooperation. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

.@PrimusBahiigi also emphasized that the country’s future depended not on eliminating differences, but on developing the capacity to manage them through dialogue, respect, compromise, and inclusive institutions. He encouraged political leaders to envision a Uganda where political competition generated better ideas rather than permanent enemies, where citizens felt included in the national project, and where democratic participation strengthened rather than undermined national unity. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

Addressing the leaders present, @PrimusBahiigi emphasized that peaceful societies are built when political leaders and citizens resolve differences through dialogue, not confrontation. He also challenged political party leaders to consider whether Uganda’s political differences would become a source of division or an opportunity to build national strength. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda

In a multiparty democracy like Uganda, political parties naturally hold different ideologies, priorities, and visions. Disagreements over policy and competition for political power are not weaknesses. Instead, these differences are what make political pluralism vibrant and meaningful. The real test lies in whether political actors can navigate these differences while upholding peaceful competition, mutual respect, national cohesion, and the institutions that sustain democracy. #TUONGEA #LetsTalkPeaceUG @EUinUganda
